2. To undertake any other general duties as required under the supervisionor as directed by senior laboratory staff.3. To rotate through each section of the laboratory as assigned.4. To understand and apply Quality Control procedures relevant to eachsection of the department.5. To implement statutory Health and Safety policies.6. To contribute to and participate in in-service training programmes in thelaboratory.7. To contribute to the provision of the departmental Near Patient Testingservice throughout NHSCT8. Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of a wide range of testsroutinely and out of hours.9. Responsible for accurate patient and result data entry in laboratory ITsystems, validation of results and storage of data.10. Follow department procedures for routine operational maintenance ofequipment and ensure maintenance logs are kept.11. To perform troubleshooting on equipment and liaise with suppliers andservice engineers when required.12. Participate in method and instrument evaluation as required bylaboratory management.13. To identify, act on or report any instance or event that will impact onservice delivery during routine or out of hours service.14. To contribute and participate in the departmental out of hour’s servicefollowing appropriate training and competency assessment.15. Must participate in the flexible working rotas as part of 37.5 hr weekincluding evenings, night and weekend work rotas asdirected by Service Manager.16. Participate in maintenance of a service to comply with CPA standards.17. Participate in audits as required by laboratory management.18. Adhere to Department stock control procedures.19. Use Trust wide and departmental computer technology in line with theTrust’s Information Management and Technology Strategy.20. To assist the section head in the supervision and training oftrainee/entry level BMS, MLA, HCA staff and students.21. Through his/her own actions ensure adherence to the Principles ofEquality and Human Rights Legislation.22. Ensure that the principle of Public Involvement is adhered to through
