PENIS PIERCING
There are multiple types of penis piercings, and many types of reasons for getting
one’s penis pierced, although the most common reasons would be for decoration
and to enhance sexual pleasure. Most genital piercings began in the United States
within the gay community, and especially among BDSM practitioners.
An apadravya is a piercing which pierces the head of the penis vertically through
the width of the head, rather than through the urethra. Jewelry is generally a
straight barbell, with each bead of the barbell sitting on each side of the glans.
The ampallang is a piercing which pierces the glans or head of the penis horizontally.
It is evidently the most painful male piercing. The initial jewelry is almost
always barbell with each bead of the barbell sitting on each side of the glans. The
ampallang was traditionally worn in various Polynesian cultures, and among a
number of tribes in Borneo, from whom the term palang comes. The apadravya
and the ampallang are exactly the same, except for the orientation of the piercing
through the glans.
The Prince Albert piercing, named after the husband of Queen Victoria, is a
piercing that enters the penis from underneath behind the head, and exits through
