applicationThe DG type proximity switches are contactless <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s.They are especially designed to meet operating conditions,where high switching accuracy, durability, corrosion and wearresistance are required. The <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s generate <strong>pulse</strong>s,the frequencies of which is proportional to the rational speed.The evaluation of the generated <strong>pulse</strong>s is assesed and monitoredby either of the <strong>Kiepe</strong> speed monitors EDO or JMNC.operating principles2-Wire Pulse Transducer according to NAMUR-EN 50227Essentially, these <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s consists of an electronicoscillator, the high-frequency stray field of which makes up theresponse zone. When a metallic object is immersed into theeffective area of the stray zone, the resonant circuit is shortcircuitedand its internal resistance becomes high-impedance.The oscillations stop and the current consumption of the <strong>pulse</strong>generator degreases. This current change is analysed by the<strong>Kiepe</strong> speed monitors.3-Wire Pulse Transducer, PNP-switchingThese <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s differ from the NAMUR types by an additionaldownstream flip-flop, which effects a change of the outputpotential from GND to +Ub when the active zone is damped.These <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s can also be directly connected to a PLC.installationThe <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s are to be installed in such a way thatwithin the sensing zone one or several metal parts (Fe metals,if possible) can rotate passing the <strong>transducer</strong>´s head within theresponse distance. One <strong>pulse</strong> is generated per metal part. Pulsemultiplication via several metal parts is recommended for lowrational speeds. the metal parts should at least have the dimensionsof the <strong>transducer</strong>´s head and the distance between any twoparts should not be below twice the diameter of the <strong>transducer</strong>´shead.The <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong> is fastened with two fixing nuts or bymeans of the enclosed plastic mounting clips c / w welding plate.Since the <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s are suitable for a flush mountingthey can be screwed directly in a thread.In order not to influence the sensitivity of the <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>,the distance between the <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>´s head and any metalmachine parts has to be at least 24 mm for M 18 and 30 mm forM 30 <strong>pulse</strong> <strong>transducer</strong>s.drawing installation405616261621406,26,2 n M6216,2 n6,2M656707386Width of the welding plates: 30 mmThickness of the welding plates: 7 mm
