خالل اجتماع مجلس اإلدارة الحادي عشر بعد المائةمجلس إدارة ألبا يقر خطة التسويقللعام القادم ويشيد بالزيادة في اإلنتاج‏أقر جملس ‏إدارة ‏رشكة ‏ألبا،‏ اخلطة املستقبلية للعام القادم 2009 لتسويقمنتجات الرشكة يف الأسواق املحلية واخلليجية والعاملية،‏ بعد الزيادةالتي حتققت يف ‏لنتاج خالل الأشهر املاضية،‏ وقد اطلع املجلس على‏سري العمل يف ‏إنشاء مركز التدريب بالرشكة.‏ كما اطلع على ‏لستعداداتبضاأن موؤمتر البيئة العربية املقرر ‏إقامته نهاية ‏شهر ‏أكتوبر،‏ حتت رعاية‏سمو الشيخ عبد اهلل بن حمد ‏آل خليفة رئيس الهيئة العامة حلماية الرثوةالبحرية والبيئة واحلياة الفطرية،‏ والذي تشارك فيه ‏ألبا كراع ‏ٍرشيك.‏جاء ذلك يف ترصيح للسيد حممود هاشم الكوهجي رئيس جملس الإدارةعقب اجتماع جملس ‏إدارة الرشكة الذي عقد مبكاتب الرشكة.‏وقد بينت نتائج الرشكة باأنها متكنت بنهاية ‏شهر يوليو املاضي منرفع ‏إنتاج املعدن اجلاهز ‏إىل 506.580 طن مرتي،‏ بزيادة تقدر بحوايل8000 طن على ما هو خمطط له.‏ كما مت استعراض ‏سجل السالمة يفاملصنع،‏ ومتابعة ما حققته بعض الدوائر من ‏إجنازات يف هذا الصدد.‏وقال رئيس جملس الإدارة ‏أن هذا الإجناز يعكس املستوى املتميز جلميعالعاملني بالرشكة.‏ وخالل ‏لجتماع راجع املجلس كافة املواضيعاملدرجة على جدول ‏أعماله،‏ والتي تضمنت استعراض ‏أسعار الأملنيوميف الأسواق العاملية،‏ وكيف ميكن ‏لستفادة منها يف خطة التسويق للعامالقادم،‏ بعد تلبية حاجة السوق املحلية واخلليجية،‏ كذلك مت ‏لطالععلى الوضع املايل والتسويقي للرشكة ومراجعة تقارير جلنة التدقيقبالإضافة ‏إىل ‏لطالع على عدد من التقارير الفنية املتعلقة مبختلفعمليات الرشكة.‏وأضاف رئيس جملس الإدارة:"‏ ‏إن هذا الإجناز مل يكن يتحقق لول حتسني‏لنتاجية باستخدام اخلربات الداخلية يف الرشكة،‏ ونحن يف جملسالإدارة ‏سعداء باأداء العاملني بالرشكة،‏ ونحثهم على مواصلة جهودهماخلرية واملخلصة".‏ وقد ‏أعرب السيد حممود هاشم الكوهجي عن بالغ‏شكره وامتنانه لدعم حكومة مملكة البحرين،‏ وعلى رأسها حرضة ‏صاحباجلاللة امللك حمد بن عيسى ‏آل خليفة عاهل البالد املفدى،‏ وصاحبالسمو الشيخ خليفة بن ‏سلمان ‏آل خليفة رئيس الوزراء املوقر،‏ وصاحبالسمو الشيخ ‏سلمان بن حمد ‏آل خليفة ويل العهد نائب القائد الأعلى لقوةدفاع البحرين.‏ كما ‏أعرب السيد الكوهجي عن امتنانه للدعم املتواصل منحكومة خادم احلرمني الرشيفني امللك عبداهلل بن عبد العزيز ‏آل ‏سعود.‏كما قدم رئيس جملس الإدارة ‏شكره لكل من ‏رشكة ممتلكات البحرينالقابضة ورشكة ‏سابك وجميع ممثليها على دعمهم الدائم للرشكة.‏وميثل ‏رشكة ممتلكات البحرين القابضة بالإضافة ‏إىل السيد حممودهاشم الكوهجي رئيس املجلس،‏ كل من السيد يوسف عبد اهلل تقي،‏ الشيخحممد بن خليفة ‏آل خليفة،‏ السيد فوزي ‏أحمد كانو،‏ السيد ‏أسامة العريض،‏السيد ديفيد مني.‏ يف حني ميثل ‏رشكة ‏سابك لالستثمارات كل من السيدمطلق املريشد،‏ السيد ‏إبراهيم الشويعر،‏ السيد حمود عبد اهلل التويجري.‏وكذلك ممثل ‏رشكة بريتون لالستثمارات السيد جريت روتريز.‏ وقد حرض‏لجتماع السيد ‏أحمد ‏صالح النعيمي الرئيس التنفيذي للرشكة،‏ والسيدحممود الديلمي نائب الرئيس التنفيذي،‏ والسيد تيم موري مدير عامالشئون املالية والقانونية،‏ وعدد من املعنيني بالرشكة.‏

Al Kooheji praisestraining and marketing at AlbaChairman of the Alba Board of Directors, MahmoodHashim Al Kooheji, emphasized that Alba Board andExecutive management consider training one of theirtop priorities, as its results influence Alba’s positionin the future as one of the largest modern aluminiumsmelter in the world.The Chairman made this announcement during hisvisit to the Alba smelter, where he was received by theAlba Acting Chief Executive, Mahmood Daylami, metwith the executive management team and discusseddifferent issues on the company’s performance andoperations with them.Following the meeting, he went on a tour aroundthe plant departments and facilities, including thetemporary training centre, marketing department,Alba medical centre and Alba club. During the visit, hediscussed work related issues with the employees.Al Kooheji referred to Alba’s remarkable improvementin training programs and urged the management tomake the new Alba training facility compliant withthe highest international standards and operate withthe latest training methods and programs that reflectAlba’s international reputation.“Alba marketing strategy depends on direct salesapproach and creating new markets,” said Al Koohejiduring his visit to the marketing department. “Thesetasks require enormous efforts and a comprehensiveteam of qualified employees with expertise in theinternational market, in order to market Alba’sinternationally-recognized high-quality products,”he said. As part of the visit, the Chairman touredthe Alba Medical Centre, which is considered one ofthe most developed health centres among industrialcompanies, through providing different medicalservices for the employees and their families. He alsovisited the Alba Sports Club and toured its differentfacilities. The chairman was very impressed with themodern technology equipment and high standards atthe club. Al Kooheji concluded his tour at Alba withfriendly conversations with the Chairman and membersof the Alba Union Board over lunch at the companypremises.Alba executive management and employees expressedtheir appreciation to the Chairman’s visit, which wasa good opportunity to take a closer look on Alba’soperations and overall performance.

To protect the environmentMarketing and Business Management SystemsImprove Shipment OperationsThe Marketing and Business Management SystemsDepartments have introduced a new project,supervised by the Environment and IndustrialHygiene Department, to protect the environmentand dispose of compressed paint cans in theCompany that are used for writing on aluminiumproducts before they are dispatched to customers,which have been practiced since the Company’sestablishment,.Mohammed Al Haddad, Acting Shipping OperationsSuperintendent in the Marketing Department, said:“This project is part of Alba’s strategy to protectthe environment, particularly on worksites, througha applying different procedure that eliminates theconsumption of compressed paint cans, whichare harmful to the environment and public health,and replacing them with coloured paper labelsstuck on the products before being exported tothe customers locally and abroad, containing allthe information that existed when the paints wereused.”“The achievement was made possible becauseof the joint efforts of Marketing, BusinessManagement Systems and Environment andIndustrial Hygiene Departments, which continuesthe Company’s series of achievements in protectingthe environment, enhancing the environmentalawareness, and creating a safer workingenvironment, without affecting the performance orcustomers’ requirements,” said Al Haddad.14

Alba launches the(Teach Me Safety)campaign for childrenAluminium Bahrain (Alba) started (Teach Me Safety)campaign for children, which coincided with thebeginning of the school year and was presented bythe employees’ children. This campaign is part ofAlba Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) weeksthat are organized throughout the year, and Alba hasdedicated this campaign to children in order to helpthem protect themselves from the different hazardsthey might face at home, at school or on the streets.“(Teach Me Safety) kids’ campaign coincided withgoing back to school,” said Abdulla Yaqoob Senan,Safety and Security Manager. “To increase safetyawareness among our employees, we wanted tokeep a reminder for them at home through theirchildren, who also deserve to be educated in orderto be able to protect themselves,” he said.“Alba reached the highest safety records everachieved by a smelter anywhere in the world, andearned many international awards. Therefore, weconsidered children in our safety campaign to helpthem enjoy an accident-free year. It is everybody’sresponsibility to teach our children how to protectthemselves from the hazards at school and on thestreets,” he added.16

Alba Employee Acquires MastersDegree in Operating CellsProtecting Environment, speeding process,and Saving CostThe Alba Reduction Maintenance Superintendant,Abdul Raouf Mohammed Ali, has acquired hisMasters from Auckland University, New Zealand.His thesis was on the operating the cells in potlines4&5, after becoming safer, better in terms of qualityand productivity, and more environment-friendly. Theproject will save 40 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2)for each ton of aluminum, a 40% decrease in gasemissions. “It is an extensive research into new andinnovative techniques of operating reduction cellswithout using that shunts that have been in use sincethe commissioning of Line 4 in 1992 and Line 5 in2005, which were an obstacle in the way of improvingsafety. In the past, these shunts (12 shunts for eachcell) required three operators to install them for twohours, and two operators to dismantle them every8 hours on three consecutive shifts, in additionto a temperature of more than 300 degrees thataccompanies the process. Furthermore, each shuntweighs nearly 50 kgs. The new experiment was triedsuccessfully and the cell 7262 was operated for thefirst time in May 2008 without using these shunts,”said Abdul Raouf speaking about his Masters thesis.The idea depends basically on using a thermallytreated carbon (graphite) instead of calcined coke withvarying degrees depending on the power required tooperate the cell with, which can be known by makingcertain calculations. This makes it possible to controlthe heat generated for each cell by controlling carbonresistance. In addition to environmental and safetyfactors, one of the main advantages of the projectthat, unlike other approaches, it extends the lifespanof the cell by 100-150 days through regulating heatdistribution to the cell cathode. Thus, preventing theaccumulation of heat in a certain spot of the cell, andeventually leading to the loss of the cell at an early stage.The new process makes it possible for the cell to startworking without the anode effect, which consumeshuge amount of power and emits toxic gases, suchas CO2 and C2F6, which are gases responsible forglobal warming. Generally, if the lifespan of the cellhas increased by minimum of 50 days, in addition tothe overall power saving in operating the cell and anyother additional operational cost to install and removethe shunts are taken into account; savings will beclose to a total of BD 533,510 every year.18

موظف من ألبايقدم رسالةالما جستير فيتشغيل خالياالصهرالحفاظ على البيئةوسرعة التشغيلوتوفير المصاريفحاز مراقب دائرة ‏صيانة املصاهر يف الرشكة عبد الروؤف حممدعلى درجة املاجستري من جامعة ‏أوكالند يف نيوزيالندا،‏ وكانمرشوع التخرج عن طريقة تشغيل اخلاليا يف خطوط الصهر 4 و، 5 التي مل تعد كما كانت يف السابق بعد ‏أن ‏أصبحت الآن ‏أكرثحفاظاً‏ على البيئة وأمانا وأفضل من حيث اجلودة والإنتاجيه،‏ويوفر املرشوع مبقدار 40 طن من ثاين ‏أكسيد الكربون )CO2(لكل طن من الألومنيوم،‏ و يقلل نسبة الإنبعاثات الغازية بنسبة.%40وقال عبد الروؤف عن مرشوع التخرج باأنه بحث موسع يفطرق جديدة ومبتكرة يف تشغيل خاليا الصهر دون احلاجة ‏إىل‏إستخدام املقاومات )Shunts( التي كانت تستخدم منذ بدايةتشغيل خط الصهر الرابع ‏سنة 1992 واخلامس ‏سنة 2005،والتي كانت متثل عقبة يف طريق تطوير السالمة حيث كانالتعامل مع هذه املقاومات )12 مقاومة يف كل خلية(،‏ يحتاج‏إىل ثالثة مشغلني لرتكيبها ملدة ‏ساعتني،‏ ومشغلني لإزالتها كل8 ‏ساعات يف ثالث مناوبات متتاليه مع ما حتمله من حرارةتفوق 300 درجة مئوية بالإضافة ‏إىل وزن الواحد منها والبالغ50 كلغ تقريبا،‏ وقد متت جتربة العملية بنجاح ومت تشغيل اخللية7262 لأول مرة بدون ‏إستخدام هذه املقاومات يف مايو العاماجلاري‎2008‎‏.‏وتعتمد فكرة املرشوع ‏أساساً‏ على ‏إستخدام الكربون املعالجحرارياً‏ )Graphite( بدل من الكربون املكلسن Calcined()coke بنسب متفاوتة تعتمد على كمية الطاقة املطلوبة لتشغيلاخللية خالل عمليات حسابية معينه،‏ وبذلك ميكن التحكم يف كميةاحلرارة املعطاة للخلية عن طريق التحكم يف مقاومة الكربون.‏بالإضافة ‏إىل الأمور البيئية والسالمة فاإن من مزايا هذااملرشوع،‏ تطويل العمر الإفرتاضي للخلية مبقدار 100 ‏إىل 150يوما نظرا ملا يوفره من تنظيم توزيع احلرارة على القطب السالبللخلية )Cathode( على عكس الطرق املتبعه،‏ وبذلك مينعتراكم احلرارة يف موقع معني من اخللية الأمر الذي يوؤدي ‏إىلفقدان اخللية يف مراحل مبكرة،‏ وهذه امليزه جعلت من املمكنللخلية ‏أن تبدأ العمل من دون احلاجه ‏إىل effect( )Anodeو الذي يستهلك الكثري من الطاقة ويبعث الكثري من الغازاتالضارة مثل ( CO2 و )C2F6 و هي كلها غازات تساعد علىالإحتباس احلراري.‏بصفة عامة ‏إذا مت احتساب التوفري يف عمر اخللية مبقدار 50يوما،‏ على ‏أقل تقدير،‏ والتوفري الكلي يف الطاقة املستخدمةلتشغيل اخللية وتكلفة التشغيل الإضايف لرتكيب وإزالةاملقاومات فاإن التوفري الذي جاء به هذا املرشوع يساوي تقريبا533,510 دينار بحريني يف السنة.‏19

Yousuf Amrallah Receives Good Suggestion Award forProtecting the Jetty and Marine EnvironmentThe Alba Calciner Electrical Maintenance Superintendant, Yousif Amrulla, has received the good suggestionaward, following conducting an in-depth study and investigation, which fulfills the conditions of the goodsuggestion scheme applied in the Company. He introduced a new approach to dispose of 14 anodesconnected to the marine cathode fixed under the jetty at the port, which previously cost the Company hugeamounts of money every year for maintenance and repairs. The new method is cost-effective and protectsmarine life. In his new introduced approach, Amrallah eliminates 14 anodes and the electric cables and circuitsconnected to each other. Instead, he replaces them with a single high quality cathode and anode connectedto the jetty poles in order to provide protection for them, without causing any harm to marine life. The conceptalso results into huge cost saving, which were otherwise spent on special imported spare parts and skilledlabour for their maintenance, as well as divers and boats and the working hours wasted on the job.Thanks to this new good suggestion, we can ensure now that the jetty will be protected from erosion and thatmarine life is preserved, which complies with Alba’s environment protection programs. The suggestion hasreceived an overwhelming response and a great encouragement by the executive management.20

The visit comes in line with Alba’s continuous support tospecialized organizations in Bahrain, including Environment Friends Society, which plays a pivotal role in thedifferent environmental activities in the Kingdom. “Alba considers environment as one of its top priorities. Infact, the company invested more than USD 600 million over the past 15 years. This is part of Alba’s policy,which supports the objectives of environmental organizations,” said the Alba Environmental Specialist, EbrahimAli. “The visitors toured the plant different facilities and departments, and were reviewed on Alba’s efforts tomaintain a healthy environment at the smelter,” he said. “Reem Committee is derived from Environment FriendsSociety and embraces children who are interested in environment related issues,” said the Society’s GeneralSecretary, Afeefa Ebrahim Hassan. “Reem members take part in different environmental activities, includingvisiting local organizations, such as Alba, to learn more about their environmental protection programs andtheir efforts in boosting environmental awareness in the community,” she said. “Reem members enjoyed thetour at Alba smelter very much, especially Alba Oasis and its artificial lake, and the wide range of different birdsand trees,” she added.22

Alba concludes Ramadhan activitiesAlba concluded its activities during the Holy Month of Ramdhan at Alba Club with a special ceremony that washeld under the patronage of Alba CEO, Ahmed Saleh Al Noaimi. Winning teams and participants were honouredfollowing the action packed calendar of activities and competitions during Ramdhan, including interdepartmentaltournaments and the popular Ramadhan tent that has become a tradition in Bahrain during the Holy Month.“Alba is committed to improving employee satisfaction; in line with this commitment, the company held differentactivities to bring its employees together through competitions between the teams from different companydepartments, and special tournaments for the elderly, the retired employees, and employees’ children, as well asmany other entertainment activities,” said Yousif Sultan, Head of Alba Club. “The employees find the opportunityat Alba tent to build their personal relationships away from working environment, and retired employees to meetwith their old friends and colleagues during their years of service,” Sultan said. Alba Media Ramadhan GhabgaAlba hosted its Ramadhan Ghabga for the media underthe patronage of Chairman of the Alba Board of Directors,Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, at Alba Club. The eventwas attended by many journalists of local, regional, andinternational media. Dr. Khalid Jassim Bomtaia, the AlbaPublic Relations Manager, received the guests, accompaniedby the Public Relations team, who welcomed the guestsand thanked them for coming. In a short speech, Al Koohejithanked everybody for their constant cooperation with Albaand their efforts to stay up-to-date with the recent eventsat one of the largest modern aluminium smelters in theworld. This gathering helps strengthen the relationshipsbetween Alba and the media. Al Kooheji also stressed on theimportance of social communication in order to improve theorganizations. Following his speech, Al Kooheji, accompaniedby the Alba CEO, Ahmed Saleh Al Noaimi, went on a tourwith the guests to the different Club facilities for the first timebefore the official opening. Later in the evening, gifts weredistributed to the attendees, who enjoyed their time at theevent.30

More than 100 summer traineescomplete two-month programmeMore than 100 children of Alba employees completed two months of summer training at differentdepartments at the company. The summer programme was arranged in order to help them spend theirsummer holidays productively and prepare them for what lies in store for them when they begin theirworking careers. It also gives them a glimpse into the working environment of their parents.They met with the Alba Recruitment Head, Jihan Al Ubaidly, who said that the training programme is alsobeing offered as a gesture of appreciation for the valuable contribution their parents had made to thecompany in helping it achieve its current position as the largest modern aluminium smelter in the world.“The training has given the students experience which will help them when they return to continue theiracademic education,” said Al Ubaidly. “It will also help them in their future careers and create a strongerfamily bond among Alba employees and their children, who get a valuable insight into what their parentsdo for a living,” she said. Participants came from secondary schools from across the Kingdom as well asBahrain University, private universities, the Bahrain Training Institute and institutions abroad.They undertook their training in two batches and were distributed among various departments,depending on their specializations, including Metallurgy, Laboratories, Maintenance, Purchasing, MaterialManagement, Reduction Services, Human Resources, Training, Business Administration System, Safetyand Security, Environment and Industrial Hygiene, and Public Relations.34

European rollerrests at ALBA OasisEuropean roller khadoor bird is a 30 cm long beautiful bird, known for its shining colours of greenish blue andblack on its body and tail, and the back is beautiful chestnut-coloured. While flying, its wings are shining bluesurrounded with black.This rare bird was seen at Alba Oasis in October this year by Head of Traffic, Hassan Radhi, who identified thebird immediately, and was highly pleased for seeing it after a long absence from Bahrain. He said the bird isknown for the public by the name “khadoor,” and belongs to the Coracirostres family, but the most beautifulof them all.The bird builds its nests in the holes inside trees and in rock crevices and feeds mainly on large size insects,like beetles and some small vertebra, such as small lizards and mice. It is one of the cautious birds whichusually do not land except in high areas of palm trees, salt trees (athel tamarix), electric cables or exposedbranches without leaves. It attacks its prey from high altitudes and spends summer in South Europe, whileit winters in Africa. “The World Federation for the Preservation of Nature has classified this bird under the“red” category of endangered species, while Bird Life International Organization has added it on its list ofendangered birds, after its numbers, which mostly live in Turkey and the European part of Russia, havedecreased in an alarmingly dramatic way. In fact, The Government of Bahrain has issued a special stamp inthe year 1992 with the picture of this bird,” said Ebrahim Ali, the Alba Environment Specialist.During the period from November and March every year, Alba Oasis welcomes different species of immigrantbirds in large numbers, which rest in the oasis and feed on the marine species of Alba’s artificial lake.36

الشقراقالطيور المهاجرة التي تجد راحتها في واحة ألبا منالشِّ‏ قِراق الأوروبي طائر جميل،‏ زاهي الألوان،‏ يصل طوله نحو‎30‎‏سم،‏ ‏أزرق خمرض وأسود،‏ ‏أما لون الذيل،‏ فاأزرق خمرض وأسود،‏ولون الظهر كستنائي جميل.‏ وأثناء الطريان تبدو ‏أجنحته زرقاءزاهية حماطة بالسواد.‏ مت رصد هذا الطائر النادر يف واحة ‏ألبايف ‏شهر ‏أكتوبر اجلاري من قبل رئيس فريق املرور بالرشكة حسنرضي الذي تعرف على الطائر مبارشة،‏ وفرح كثرياً‏ لروؤيته بعدزمن طويل من غيابه عن البحرين،‏ وقال ‏أن الطائر يعرف لدىالعامة باسم ‏“اخلاضور”.‏الشقراق الأوروبي هو الإسم العاملي املشهور للخاضور،‏ وهو منفصيلة الغرابيات،‏ وهو ‏أجملها على الإطالق.‏ يعشش هذا الطائريف ثقوب داخل الأشجار،‏ ويف ‏شقوق الصخور،‏ ويتغذَّى ‏أساساً‏باحلرشات الضخمة كاخلنافس،‏ وبعض الفقاريات الصغريةكالسحايل والفئران،‏ وهو من الطيور احلذرة التي ل تنزل يفالعادة ‏إل يف الأماكن املرتفعة من النخل وأشجارالأثل وأسالكالكهرباء ‏أو الأعواد املعروضة العارية من الأوراق،‏ وينقضُّ‏ علىفريسته من الأماكن العالية ، ويقضي الصيف يف جنوبي ‏أوروبا،‏‏أما الشتاء ففي ‏إفريقيا.‏‏إىل ذلك قال ‏أخصائي البيئة يف الرشكة السيد ‏إبراهيم علي:‏ ‏إن‏لحتاد الدوىل لصون الطبيعة قد ‏صنف طائر الشقراق الأوروبي‏ضمن الفئات ‏“احلمراء”‏ ملراحل ‏لنقراض،‏ كما وضعته موؤخراً‏منظمة بريد ليف انرتناشيونال على قائمتها للطيور املهددةبالإنقراض،‏ بعدما تراجعت ‏أعداد هذا الطائر التي تعيش معظمهايف تركيا واجلزء الأوروبي من روسيا بشكل ملحوظ.‏ كما ‏أنحكومة البحرين قد اصدرت عام 1992 طابع بريدي خاص يحمل‏صورة هذا الطائر.‏وتشهد واحة ‏ألبا يف الفرتة ما بني نوفمرب ومارس من كل عامتوافد ‏أنواع متعددة من الطيور املهاجرة وباأعداد كبرية حيث جتدراحتها يف واحة ‏ألبا وتتغذى على الأحياء املائية املوجودة يفبحرية ‏ألبا الإصطناعية.‏37

Alba volunteers take part inelectricity saving campaignMore than 30 volunteers from the Alba CommunityService Committee, in cooperation with the Ministryof Electricity and Water, participated in the nationalelectricity saving awareness campaign at DanaMall. The volunteers provided tips and instructionsto visitors of the mall on how to reduce their powerconsumption, especially during summer, in orderto protect Bahrain’s natural resources. Duringthe campaign, volunteers distributed informationbrochures and simple gifts to encourage thepublic to reduce their daily electricity andwater consumption. Abbas Al Khayat, Head ofinformation and Awareness at the Electricity andWater Conservation Directorate, highly valuedAlba’s support to the national campaign to saveelectricity and the Community Service volunteersfor their dedication and commitment to makethe campaign a success and reach the targetedgoals. “Alba community service team possessesthe fundamental elements that any successfulcampaign needs,” said Al Khayat. “Their dedicationand commitment is attributed to the encouragementand support of the Alba executive managementthat has many achievements on social aspects, inaddition to industrial and economic achievementsin the Kingdom,” he said.40

ضمن توجهات ألبا للمحافظة على البيئةمتطوعو خدمة المجتمع في ‏)ألبا(‏ يساهمون فيحملة ترشيد أستهالك الكهرباءتاأكيداً‏ ملضوؤولية البا نحو املجتمع,‏ ‏شارك ‏أكرث من 30 متطوع من جلنة خدمة املجتمع التابعة لرشكة ‏ألبا،‏ يف فعالية احلملة الوطنية لرتشيداستهالك الكهرباء بالتعاون مع الهيئة الوطنية للكهرباء واملاء يف جممع الدانة التجاري.‏وقدم متطوعو ‏رشكة ‏ألبا للجمهور النصائح والإرشادات التي تدعوهم ‏إىل ترشيد ‏إستهالك الكهرباء ل ‏سيما يف ‏أشهر الصيف للمحافظة علىهذه الطاقة من النفاذ،‏ مدعمني حديثهم ببعض امللصقات واملطويات التي حتتوي على املعلومات القيمة يف الرتشيد،‏ وهدية رمزية تشيجيعةللمواصلة يف ترشيد استهالك الكهرباء واملاء.‏ من جانبه ثمن رئيس الإعالم والتوعية بهيئة الكهرباء واملاء عباس اخلياط،‏ مبادرة ‏رشكة ‏ألبا،‏ومشاركة فريق جلنة خدمة املجتمع يف احلملة الوطنية لرتشيد الكهرباء وحرصهم على جناح هذه الفعالية وأن حتقق ‏أهدافها املرجوة التي‏أقيمت من ‏أجلها.‏ وأضاف اخلياط:‏ ‏إن فريق ‏ألبا خلدمة املجتمع ميتلك جميع املقومات الأساسية التي حتتاجها مثل هذه الفعالية،‏ وأنهم يحضونبالأهتمام واملتابعة والتشجيع من قبل الإدارة التنفييذية التي هي الأخرى لها بصمات واضحة يف العديد من الفعاليات ‏لجتماعية بجانبدورها الصناعي ولقتصادي يف اململكة.‏41

Alba TourAlba’s total area is two square kilometres, with a total 21 hectares of greenery that stands as a living proof to Alba’senvironmental protection programs. Besides its environmental commitment, Alba witnesses constant expansionand development projects, including the world’s longest reduction line (1.2 kilometres), in addition to other reductionlines. Alba also includes within its premises many other departments, including Casthouse 1, 2 and 3, Carbon 1, 2and 3, Central Workshops, ready-to-export finished metal stock area, in addition to employees’ amenity buildingsthat are spread around the plant, and the Alba Health Care Centre that provides medical services to the employeesand their families.42
