AcknowledgementsWe have been fortunate in the IPRC to enjoy the support and contributionsof many colleagues. We wish first to acknowledge Dr. StanRifkin, who played several different roles for us. He was our discussantat our first workshop, challenging our thinking and synthesizingwhat he heard from us as he listened to members’ initial ideas. Hethen served as a reviewer, editor, and writer on framework drafts. Wethank him for his several invaluable contributions. In addition to Stan, Dr. Roger Bate, Dr. Bill Curtis, Dr. Robert Glass, and Mr. Richard Turner served as reviewers. They provided fine critiquesand made excellent suggestions. The author team then consideredand processed their comments and so bears the responsibility forthe resulting text. Some of the reviewers made such strong contributionsthat we have asked them to follow up with new research themesand nodes that we will publish in our online version of the framework. Also, two of our members, Dr. Barry Boehm and Dr. Vic Basili, served as the reviewers of our first drafts of the framework. This wasa crucial step in getting the framework under way, and we thank themand all of our reviewers for their attention and good judgment.Dr. Jim Herbsleb, Dr. Dennis Goldenson, Ms. Kate Ambrose, andMs. Barbara Hoerr helped with the initial planning and ideas for theconsortium. The chair and co chair particularly thank them for thestart-up assistance, and our colleagues Mr. Jay Douglass and Mr. GianWemyss, who helped at the beginning and throughout. Jay helpedus to set strategy and our business model and Gian assisted with theplanning and facilitation of every workshop. Mr. Dave White helpedus with contracting and then served as an excellent facilitator duringthe scenario planning efforts. Our scenario planning efforts would not have been possible withoutthe training and coaching of Mr. Jonathan Star of Global BusinessNetwork. He also introduced us to Ms. Lynn Carruthers, who in turnintroduced us to visual recording and facilitation techniques. Jonathanalso served as discussant at our second workshop, and helped to galvanizeour thinking and preparation for the future.Every workshop we held went more smoothly than we had any rightto expect because of the superb support of our meeting planner, Ms.Linda Canon. She is an example to any professional who cares aboutexcellent process.xviIPRC Framework
