Universal precautions are used at all times whenever handling anything contaminated with bloodor o<strong>the</strong>r potentially infectious materials. It is not necessary <strong>the</strong>refore to label impressions and/orappliances, etc. when handling and transporting <strong>the</strong>m within this dental office/practice/facility. All materials (impressions, appliances, etc.) are decontaminated (see below) before entering <strong>the</strong>office in-house laboratory.
