HOUSEKEEPING CONTINUEDC. IN-HOUSE LAUNDRY PROCEDURES Universal precautions are utilized in the handling of all contaminated laundry. No labelingor color-coding of individual pieces of contaminated laundry is required in the dental office(although appropriate labeling of the bags and/or containers that the contaminated laundryis stored in is recommended). Employees are educated to recognize the hazards associated with the handling of contaminated laundry. Employees handling laundry contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious materials occursas little as possible. Laundry not labeled is placed in appropriately labeled bags and/or containers.Circle one: Biohazard labeled OR Color-coded red bag When laundry is wet, it is stored in a leak proof container.Please note: If this facility ships contaminated laundry off-site to anotherfacility the scope of work contract with the launderer will be required toutilize the equivalent of universal precautions.OSHA EXPOSURE CONTROL PLAN…a member benefit from the WDA 20
