Given the change in the political scenario and improved professionalism in<strong>Police</strong> action, the <strong>Police</strong> are regaining their lost image, which is reflected in theincreased number of crimes reported at the Model Thana <strong>Police</strong> reform is a process of continuous development.(2) Future strategic directions or recommendations PRP as partner of Bangladesh <strong>Police</strong> will extend its activities into the CHT towork on community policing and community partnership. A PRP office to beestablished in Rangamati to coordinate the reform process of police in CHT. Victim support facility in small scale at Jessore kotwali model thana will be setup to support the local needs. PRP will establish a think-tank team to provide expertise for other UNDPinitiatives on lessons learnt e.g. how to achieve sustainability beyond projectlifetime throughout strategic planning and successful implementation. PRP will develop closer links with other UN agencies to coordinate lawenforcement and law reform initiatives with related practice areas. PRP and Bangladesh <strong>Police</strong> will bring their activities closer to judiciary reforminitiatives. PRP will encourage Bangladesh <strong>Police</strong> to select a cadre of officers for itstraining institutions and start actively participating in reorganizing the entirerecruitment and education system. PRP will ensure that PHQ will keep the <strong>Police</strong> Open Day as an integral part ofthe overall community policing and crime prevention policy. Victim Support, domestic violence and gender sensitization issues as well asincreasing the number of female police personnel shall get priority.
