The realstory <strong>of</strong> the game, however, was <strong>Toledo</strong>’s defense. TheRockets did give up 478 yards <strong>of</strong> total <strong>of</strong>fense but picked<strong>of</strong>f UC quarterback Munchie Legaux twice and limited theBearcats to just 23 points. The two biggest plays served asbookends for the game. Senior safety Jermaine Robinsonwent 75 yards for the score <strong>of</strong>f an interception return inthe first quarter, and sophomore reserve cornerback JordanHaden snuffed out the Bearcats’ last-ditch rally by picking<strong>of</strong>f Legaux’s pass with 23 seconds left in the game.<strong>Toledo</strong> also came up big on special teams. Junior BernardReedy returned a kick<strong>of</strong>f 91 yards for the score latein the third quarter to give the Rockets the lead for good,26-20. It was Reedy’s third special teams TD in as manyweeks.Overshadowed a bit was another stellar performanceby junior running back David Fluellen. Fluellen rushed for161 yards, his fourth straight 100-yard game, and ran theball nine times in <strong>Toledo</strong>’s final drive, setting up Detmer’sfifth and final field goal.GAME NOTES<strong>Toledo</strong> improved to 7-11 all-time vs. Top 25 teams, including 5-1at home...It was the Rockets’ first against a ranked opponent sincethey defeated Bowling Green, 49-41, on Nov. 23, 2004...<strong>Toledo</strong> isnow 7-1 on the season, marking its best start since 2001. UT alsobegan that year winning seven <strong>of</strong> its first eight contests and wenton to finish 10-2 overall...Sophomore PK Jeremiah Detmer has nowmade 11-consecutive field goals...He is the first Rocket to makefive field goals in a game since Todd France vs. Eastern Illinoison Sept. 16, 2000...Senior LB Dan Molls totaled a team-high 13tackles.
