A short while later, junior runningback David Fluellen reinjured his sore left ankle and neverreturned.Despite those losses, <strong>Toledo</strong> was in the game well intothe fourth quarter, trailing just 13-9 before a 63-yard touchdownrun by USU’s Kerwynn Williams put the game on icejust under the seven-minute mark. Williams then followedwith two more scoring runs <strong>of</strong> five and 25 yards to finishthe game with 18 carries for 235 yards.Senior QB Austin Dantin, who played the first threequarters, completed 12-<strong>of</strong>-21 attempts for 132 yards withtwo interceptions for the Rockets. Junior QB Terrance Owensplayed most <strong>of</strong> the fourth quarter and was 5-<strong>of</strong>-16 for26 yards. Utah State’s Chuckie Keeton threw for 229 yardsand completed 21-<strong>of</strong>-31 pass attempts.Junior WR Bernard Reedy led the Rockets in bothrushing and receiving, finishing with a career-high 10 carriesfor 50 yards on the ground and six catches for 62 yardsin the air. He was honored following the game as <strong>Toledo</strong>’sMost Valuable Player.GAME NOTES<strong>Toledo</strong> played in its third straight bowl game and now has a 9-4bowl record in its 92-year history. He also ran the ball a career-high10 times for 50 yards...Junior RB David Fluellen carried the balljust seven times for 38 yards before re-injuring his left ankle.
