3.20Banks <strong>and</strong> foreign exchange facilities at <strong>airport</strong>sACI POLICY3.20.1 Currency exchange facilitiesshould be provided at international<strong>airport</strong>s <strong>and</strong> in service at those timeswhen passenger flights are operating.ACI RECOMMENDED PRACTICE / COMMENTSuch facilities should be easily accessible to both arriving <strong>and</strong> departingpassengers. If the volume of traffic at certain times does not justify the openingof banks, other currency exchange facilities such as vending machines should bemade available. It is important that ICAO-recommended signs for currencyexchange facilities be used universally.3.21Vehicle parking facilities at <strong>airport</strong>sACI POLICY3.21.1 Adequate parking facilitiesshould be provided to meet the needsof passengers, crew, staff <strong>and</strong>members of the public using the <strong>airport</strong>facilities, when feasible.ACI RECOMMENDED PRACTICE / COMMENTThe distance between vehicle parking areas <strong>and</strong> terminal buildings is not asimportant as the speed <strong>and</strong> convenience of access to the terminals from theparking areas.3.22Duty-free shops on arrivalACI POLICY3.22.1 Duty-free shops for arrivingpassengers should not replace thosefor departing passengers.ACI RECOMMENDED PRACTICE / COMMENTAn increasing number of <strong>airport</strong>s have established duty-free shops for arrivingpassengers. These should be in addition to the duty-free shops for departingpassengers.3.23Transfer of downtown duty-free purchasesACI POLICY3.23.1 The general principlesgoverning <strong>airport</strong> duty-free shopsshould apply to downtown duty-freeshops.ACI RECOMMENDED PRACTICE / COMMENT3.23.1a The conveyance <strong>and</strong> delivery procedures involved should be simple <strong>and</strong>should place no obligation upon airline or <strong>airport</strong> personnel.
