Braude and Eagan lead two hours of local conversation thatcombine newsmaker interviews, conversations with experts and listenercall-ins.With the addition of the pair, Boston Public Radio has launched a newdaily segment. Open Mic, which airs at 1pm, includes weekly appearances bya variety of guests who discuss current events and debates that are shapingthe news in Greater Boston and across the nation. In addition, Braude andEagan host a monthly Ask the Governor program on <strong>WGBH</strong>, a series they ledin their former role at WTKK 96.9FM.For 13 years, Braude and Eagan co-hosted the Jim & Margery Show onWTKK. Braude, an Emmy Award-winning journalist, started his career as alegal services lawyer in the South Bronx. He hosts Broadside: The News withJim Braude weeknights on New England Cable News. Eagan, a columnist forthe Boston Herald, grew up in Fall River. Throughout her career, Eagan haswritten for a number of publications, including Boston Magazine. She hasappeared on national and local news programs and is a regular guest onGreater Boston and Beat the Press on <strong>WGBH</strong> TV.The format change is part of <strong>WGBH</strong> News’ ongoing evolution and continuedcommitment to strengthening the region’s most dynamic local newsteam. <strong>WGBH</strong>’s talentedjournalists continue tocontribute to BostonPublic Radio’s originalnews reporting: Callie Crossley lends her signature perspective to the explorationof important topics, both local and national.
