Overview – SystemThe Net2 system is a revolutionary system with hardware and softwaredeveloped simultaneously to meet the requirements of a modern dayaccess control system. The hardware uses the latest in microchiptechnology allowing unprecedented levels of speed, resilience and value.The software is based on the latest Windows interfaces and is developedto enable powerful functionality whilst maintaining ease of use.An access control system is an investment. Control units are automaticallydetected.Ease of wiringClearly labelled terminals on every access control unit remove the needfor continual referencing to wiring diagrams. Clear colour coding ofreader cables leads to fewer mistakes.Diagnostic LEDsAn array of LEDs on the control unit indicate the status of key systemfeatures. FLASH MemoryFLASH memory in the access control units allows the downloading ofnew firmware to the control units from the PC over the network. Thismeans that as new features are added to Net2, systems in the field can beupgraded to allow the use of the latest software features without anychanges to the hardware.Open architectureRelay outputs and digital and analogue inputs allow integration with thehardware of other systems.Latest technologyState of the art electronic components create a solid hardware platform,which is both high performance and compact.Scaleable architectureThe system will be scaleable. The smallest system will be expandable tothe largest system using the same hardware building blocks with noredundancy of hardware as the system expands.CommunicationsVery high speed and resilient communications offer real time alarmreporting and the capability for very large systems.Distributed intelligenceThe Net2 single door control units provide fully distributed intelligencedown to individual doors. This gives greater system resilience and makessupport and problem diagnosis easier. Also, event information can beretained when the system is running off-line (2,300 events per controlunit/door).Multi-technologyThe same control unit will support magstripe, keypads and proximity,mixed on a single site if required.Overview – Net2 softwareOpen architectureMicrosoft Access database allows easy linking of data to other softwaresystems.Ease of useEasy to learn user interface working in Microsoft Windows 2000/XPenvironments. The user interface looks and feels like the latest MicrosoftWindows explorer and Outlook programs so office PC users will be ableto navigate the system intuitively.Ease of commissioningAuto detection and numbering of access control units. No DIP switches toset or binary numbering to worry about - switch on the software and go!ModularThe software has the capacity for features to be added as and when theyare required.
