Chapter7- ConclusionThrough the examination of Taiwanese expatriates‘ everyday grounded practices athome, in the workplace and in leisure spaces, this research has highlighted not only thesignificance of place in affecting transnational migrants‘ practices of belonging, but alsomigrants‘ agency in such emotional processes and interactions with and within differenteveryday living spaces. This is demonstrated by their identity practices embedded ineveryday lived experiences of material culture, transnational actions and interpersonalinteractions and socialisations.7.3. Theoretical and methodological contributionsThis section elaborates on the theoretical contributions of this empirical study to thescholarship on transnationalism, migrant belonging and emotional geographies. Also,practical implications for expatriate management and policies drawn from the study willbe presented. This is followed by the consideration of practical insights of my researchmethodology into the research of contemporary transnational migration.7.3.1.
