FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARDCAMP BLANDING TRAINING SITE<strong>210</strong>-5 RANGE CONTROL STANDARD OPERATION PROCEDURES3.2.10 Procedures for Misfires:3.2.10.1 Misfire procedures for specific rounds are prescribed in the appropriate weapon and/orammunition Technical and Field Manuals (See AR 75-1 Malfunctions Involving Ammunitionsand Explosives.3.2.10.2 Prior to turn-in to the ASP, misfires should be repacked in the original container,tagged or otherwise identified (DA Form 4379) and kept separate from other ammunition items.For mortar ammunition, safety pins will be replaced in fuses prior to turn-in. If the pin cannotbe replaced notify <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong>. If the ammunition inspector determines that a misfire isunsafe to handle, EOD will be contacted through the <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong> Office.3.2.11 Erratic Firing: Any projectile or object which lands outside of firing limits will be immediatelyreported to <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong> by radio. Reports will include the approximate coordinates of impact,estimated caliber, estimated back azimuth and the time the round was observed. Upon notificationand/or discovery that a projectile has landed outside safety limits, the OIC of firing will cease-fireimmediately and notify <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong>. The <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong> Officer or his representative will make adecision as to whether the range involved should be closed until the cause is determined and corrected.The incident will be reported by the firing OIC to his/her unit commander. A full incident/accidentreport will be submitted to the Post Commander through <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong>. The <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong> Officerwill conduct an investigation and submit a report when directed by the PTD.3.2.12 Privately Owned Vehicles: Parking of POV's on fire ranges will be in those areas designated asparking areas by <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong>. At no time are POV's permitted down range or on the firing line.3.2.13 POV parking in training areas is prohibited unless prior approval has been obtained from <strong>Range</strong><strong>Control</strong>.3.2.14 Road Restrictions.3.2.14.1 Administrative Roads: The following are designed as administrative roads (drivinglights) upon which normal administrative traffic is permitted at all times.Barker RoadWoodbury RoadHighways 16 and 21Dade RoadAll roads between Avenue A and DWhitmore Lake Road (Between intersections of Yerkes Road and Avenue D)Yerkes RoadWest Gate RoadTreat Road* Hollywood Street is blocked for Aviation operations between Avenues B and CCBTS <strong>210</strong>-5 <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Control</strong> Standard Operating ProceduresRevision Date: <strong>01</strong> Oct 20<strong>01</strong>Page - 19 -
