Liebe Leser,
Sport, Musik und Reisen stehen diesmal im Vordergrund
unserer Sommerausgabe 2008. Wir lassen die
Ergebnisse und verschiedenen Veranstaltungen rund
um die Fußball-Europameisterschaft noch einmal für
Sie Revue passieren und freuen uns sehr, dass es die
deutsche Elf ins Finale geschafft hat. Den Spaniern sei
die begehrte Euro 2008 Trophäe nach 44 Jahren gegönnt.
Kaum liegt dieses sportliche Großereignis hinter uns, geht es mit
Riesenschritten auf das nächste zu: Die Olympischen Sommerspiele
in Peking. Wir berichten über einige Spitzenathleten aus Deutschland,
Österreich und der Schweiz und haben interessante Informationen
rund um Olympia für Sie zusammengestellt.
Unseren Musikliebhabern stellen wir deutsche, in USA erfolgreiche
Künstler vor, wie sie unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten: Opernsänger
Johannes Schwaiger, Teen Pop-Band Tokio Hotel und die
Altmeister elektronischer Musik, Kraftwerk.
Anlässlich des Schweizer Nationalfeiertages, der am 1. August

Dear Reader,
Sports, music and travel are the main focus of our 2008
summer edition. We take a look at the European Soccer
Championship in Austria and Switzerland which also initiated
many fun events in the US. We are very happy that
the German team made it to the final and we congratulate
Spain on a well-deserved victory.
With this one mega sports event hardly behind us, the next one is
approaching fast: The Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. We
introduce the top athletes from Austria, Germany and Switzerland
to you along with lots of background information about the
upcoming games.
In our music section, you’ll be introduced to some amazing artists
from Germany who could not be more different from one another:
the opera singer Johannes Schwaiger, teen pop band Tokio Hotel
and electronic music gurus Kraftwerk.
On occasion of Swiss National Day which is celebrated on
August 1, our separate insert “Switzerland World” offers interesting
information on all things Swiss in the US.
