Lanai <strong>Water</strong> CompanyWinner of <strong>2008</strong> Ono <strong>Water</strong> ContestLanai <strong>Water</strong> Company (LWC) is PUC regulated and serves over 3,000 residents and guests of <strong>the</strong>Island of Lanai. LWC provides potable water to two Four Seasons Resorts-Manele Bay and <strong>the</strong> Lodgeat Koele. In addition, we run two R-1 Plants and a brackish water system to irrigate two golf coursesand landscape areas in Manele.Lanai does not have perennial streams, and our water comes from wells that puncture a high levelaquifer. LWC delivered 2.2 million gallons per day (MGD) last year from four potable and three brackishwater wells. Theturn out was a respectable 79 golfers, and good fun was hadby all. Everyone received some kind of prize, making for allinvolved to be winners. Donations this year to <strong>Water</strong> forPeople were in excess of $4,000 for <strong>the</strong> first time. Thismoney goes to help cover transportation and o<strong>the</strong>r costsassociated with <strong>the</strong> recent <strong>Water</strong> for People Rotary Clubproject on Palau. Thanks to all those that participated andalso to those companies that donated cash and prizes for <strong>the</strong>golfers.
