<strong>Spirit</strong> <strong>Week</strong>Winterfest 2012“BULLDOGS – SWIFTER, HIGHER, STRONGER”The following information is concerning <strong>Spirit</strong> <strong>Week</strong> and Winterfest Activities. The dates forthis event are Tuesday, February 7 th – Friday, February 10 th . We will play VES, the Bishops.The theme for the week is “Bulldogs – Swifter, Higher, Stronger” with the Winterfest Chapelcentered around the OLYMPICS. Throughout the week this theme will be a part of what eachclass will be creating.All grades 6 th – 12 th grade will be participating in Winterfest and each grade will have theopportunity to participate in the dress up days and class project. 6 th – 8 th grade will be incompetition against each other and 9 th – 12 th grade will compete against one another. Everyonewill be involved with the chapel.<strong>Spirit</strong> Days are as follows: (detailed explanation is also included.)Tuesday: Olympic Ring Color Day & Crazy Hat DayWednesday: Olympic Sports DayThursday: Sr. Citizen DayFriday: Bulldog Apparel Day (Jeans for $)The main project for every class is:An Olympic LandmarkThe Olympics this year are being held in London. We wish everyone could go to London, butthat’s not possible so we will let our BULLDOG MASCOT visit some of the Landmarks ofLondon. Every class will decorate a doorway as a particular famous landmark. You mustincorporate your landmark, the Bulldogs and Bishops and your class year into the doorway.Each class has been assigned a landmark & doorway and they are listed below. These doorwaysneed to be completed by Thursday by 8:15am.1 st – 500, 2 nd – 400, 3 rd – 300, 4 th – 200 points.6 th – Tower Bridge – Mrs. King’s Door (Rm 171)7 th grade – Buckingham Palace – Mrs. Hite’s Door (Rm 275)8 th grade – London Eye “Millenium Wheel” - Mrs. Pomajzl’s Door (Rm 270)9 th grade – Big Ben – Mrs. Potter’s Door (Rm 260)10 th grade – 10 Downing Street – Mrs. Baker’s Door (Rm 203)11 th grade – Trafalgar Square – Mr. Moon’s Door (Rm 229)12 th grade – St. Paul’s Cathedral – Mrs. Edwards’ Door (Rm 224)


**Service project: Special Olympics**We will be collecting “5’s” to help sponsor a special needs child at the summer olympics. Bringin a nickel, twenty-five cents, fifty cents, five dollars to help sponsor a child to the summerolympics. ($150 will sponsor 1 child – let’s see if we can at least sponsor 3 as a school!!!)The 1 st period class to bring in the most $$ will receive an ice cream sundae party.SPIRIT DAYS(If a student chooses to NOT PARTICIPATE in the spirit days, they must be in regular schooluniform dress.)Every morning at 8:20 each 1 st period class will send their best dressed student to the choir roomfor judging. (you only send 1 person) The winning boy and girl will receive an additional 100points for their class. Grade levels with 100% participation will also be awarded an additional100 points. 1 st period teachers who dress up and participate in the days events will also earn anautomatic 20 points for the class they sponsor or the grade level they designate!!!Students MUST stay dressed in their costume ALL DAY!!Tuesday: Olympic Ring Color Day & Crazy Hat Day. Students are to dress in any color ofthe 5 olympic rings (blue, black, red, green, yellow) and wear a crazy hat. A regular baseball capdoes not constitute as a “crazy hat.” Temporary hair paint is allowed but must be appliedBEFORE you come to school. No jeans, shorts, tank tops, etc are allowed. No full facepainting is allowed – Olympic rings on the cheeks/face are appropriate.-Winterfest Assembly – chapel day schedule-Winterfest Court needs to meet in the auditorium at 9AM. Voting for WinterfestPrincess will take place at the end of chapel.-Winterfest Court and SGA will be going to lunch after the assembly. They will returnfor 6 th & 7 th periods.Wednesday: Olympic Sport Day. Students are to dress as a representation of their favoritesport. ALL CLOTHING MUST BE MODEST!!! No jeans, bathing suits, leotards, spandex,tank tops, etc are allowed.-Regular Day ScheduleThursday: Sr. Citizen Day. Students are to dress up as a Sr. Citizen. No jeans, tank tops, orimmodest clothing is acceptable.-Chapel Day Schedule – Chapel at regular timeFriday: Bulldog Apparel Day & Jeans for $. This will be bulldog apparel day and studentsmay wear jeans if they pay $5. (The $5 will be collected during 1 st period). If they choose not topay for jeans then they are to wear bulldog apparel on top and school uniform on bottom. Themoney will go to support the LCA Missions trip this spring.**If there are ANY questions about student dress, please have them see Mrs.Breen. If they come dressed inappropriately – they WILL BE REQURED TO CHANGE!!Remember – This is a week to have a GREAT TIME and show YOUR school spirit!!!!!
