2012 SeasonGame 1 • Sept. 8 • <strong>ESU</strong> 31, Lock Haven 0EAST STROUDSBURG – R-Jr. QB Nate Daniels threwfor 355 yards, R-Sr. WR Jordan Hallman caught 7passes for 179 yards and 3 TD and <strong>ESU</strong> posted its 6thshutout in 39 season openers under Denny Doudswith a 31-0 victory over Lock Haven.Daniels was 17-for-26 with 4 TD passes in his 2ndcareer start, connecting with 6 different receiversand helping Hallman record his 5th career 100-yardreceiving game. The only receiver in Division II withback-to-back 200-yard games in 2011, Hallman wentover 1,500 career receiving yards and has 15 TD.<strong>ESU</strong> led 24-0 at halftime and scored on its first fourpossessions. Jr. K Taylor Groff got the Warriors onthe board with a 37-yard field goal and Daniels threwthree first-half TD passes - 68 yards to R-Jr. WR RobertBleiler (3 catches, 81 yards) and 10 and 79 yards toHallman. Daniels was 9-for-13 for 250 yards in the firsthalf.Daniels’ 61-yard TD to Hallman early in the 4thquarter was the only scoring of the 2nd half and puthim over the 300-yard mark. His 355 passing yards are4th-most in a season opener in school history.Douds, coaching his 398th career game to extendhis DII record that he set last season, moved into a tiefor 5th on the DII wins list with 233, matching ArnettMumford, who coached four schools from 1924-61.The Warriors’ defense held Lock Haven to 235yards on 67 plays, 151 passing and 84 rushing. LockHaven’s deepest penetration was the <strong>ESU</strong> 25.Fr. OLB Mike Kinney, one of three true freshmenstarting the season opener, led the Warriors with 12tackles. So. LB Don Kinney, Jr. had 8 tackles, including3.0 TFL.
