BATTERY CABLES ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION Part No. 8A00A4541 Review 1Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Phase 4Initial battery chargingPerform the initial charge of the batteryaccording to the instructionsheet enclosed in its package.Assembling the batteryInsert the motorcycle key in the rearlock. Rotate the key clockwise whilelifting the pillion.Remove the pillion as shown in thefigure.Rotate the driver’s saddle catch asshown in the figure.Phase 5Phase 6 Phase 7 Phase 8Lift the driver’s saddle and removeit.Insert the battery in its proper compartment.WARNINGThe initial battery chargingmust be performed beforeassembling the battery onthe vehicle.Assembling the battery terminalsFit the 2 positive terminals (+) on thecorresponding battery pole, respectingtheir disposition as shown in thefigure. Pay attention to the coloursof the cables in order to correctlyplace them.Rotate the positive terminals screwand tighten it at the prescribed torqueby using a dynamometric key.Tightening torque: 7 ÷ 8 NmPhase 9 Phase 10 Phase 11 Phase 12Afterwards, fit the protective capon the positive pole (see figure).Fit the 2 negative terminals (-) onthe corresponding battery pole,respecting their disposition asshown in the figure.Rotate the negative terminals screwand tighten it at the prescribed torqueby using a dynamometric key.Tightening torque: 7 ÷ 8 NmCAUTION: Before tighteningthe screw, make sure thatthe cables are correctly placed(see figure on the reverseside of this sheet).WARNING: When theassembly operations havebeen completed, make surethat the positive terminalcable is placed within therear frame (see figure).Replace the driver’s saddle and thepillion by inversely performing theoperations described in the phasesfrom 2 to 5 .
