While falling short of theCR3C record set in 1994, he was clearly thedominant force in this category for 1999.Two US entries, K5ZD in the CW-only categoryand KQ2M in the mixed-mode division,rounded out the overall winners’ list forthe contest. Kudos also go outto CF3EJ (VE3SJ operating mixed-mode),VA7RR (phone-only) and VE2IM (UT4UZoperating CW-only) as the top scores postedby Canadian stations in the event.Electronic logging has continued to improvein the Championship, as 61% of thelogs submitted were in electronic format.Of those about 90% were usable for logchecking. Please remember that electronicsubmissions must be in ASCII text readableformat. If you submit program file (a Worddocument file or an Excel spreadsheet, forexample) instead of a text file, the file isnot usable.Unfortunately we were forced to removeQSOs and multipliers from logs during thechecking process. The good news is thatmost logs fared better than in 1998, as thepercentage of busted QSOs seemed to bedown overall.The 14th annual IARU HF World Championshipwill be held July 8-9, 2000.
