k) To notify <strong>the</strong> Administration of any occupational injuries or diseases affectingseafarers in such cases <strong>and</strong> in such manner as required by Liberian law <strong>and</strong>regulations.3.2 Conduct of Inspectorsa) Inspectors shall treat as confidential <strong>the</strong> source of any grievance or complaintalleging a danger or deficiency in relation to seafarers’ working <strong>and</strong> livingconditions or a violation of laws <strong>and</strong> regulations <strong>and</strong> shall not reveal to <strong>the</strong>shipowner, <strong>the</strong> shipowners representative or <strong>the</strong> operator of <strong>the</strong> ship that aninspection was made as a consequence of such a grievance or complaint.b) Inspectors that have any direct or indirect interest with <strong>the</strong> shipowner,seafarers or o<strong>the</strong>r interested parties shall not be called upon to carry out <strong>the</strong>maritime labour inspection.c) Inspectors shall not reveal, even after leaving service, any commercial secretsor confidential working processes or information of a personal nature whichmay come to <strong>the</strong>ir knowledge in <strong>the</strong> course of <strong>the</strong>ir duties, <strong>and</strong> may be subjectto appropriate sanctions or disciplinary measures.3.3 Obligation of InspectorsLMLI’s <strong>and</strong> authorized RO’s, shall, submit a report of each inspection to <strong>the</strong>Administration (refer 4.1 below).In case of an investigation following a major incident, <strong>the</strong> report shall besubmitted to <strong>the</strong> Administration as soon as practicable, but not later than onemonth following <strong>the</strong> conclusion of <strong>the</strong> investigation.3.4 Responsibility of Inspectors4.0 REQUIREMENTSWhen an inspection is conducted or when measures are taken to remedy or rectifydeficiency or provide an acceptable corrective action plan, all reasonable effortsshall be made to avoid a ship being unreasonably detained or delayed.These requirements are supplemental to DMLC Part I, <strong>the</strong> Maritime Law (RLM-107),Maritime Regulations (RLM- 108) <strong>and</strong> Marine Notices contained in <strong>the</strong> CombinedPublication Folder (RLM-300).4.1 Report of Maritime Labour Inspection, Maritime Labour Certificate <strong>and</strong>DMLCRegardless of whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> ship is certified under <strong>the</strong> MLC, 2006, or not, afterconducting an MLC, 2006, inspection, LMLI’s <strong>and</strong> authorized RO inspectorsshall prepare a report of each inspection <strong>and</strong> provide three copies in English. Theoriginal of <strong>the</strong> report shall be given to <strong>the</strong> master, a copy shall be posted on <strong>the</strong>ships notice board for <strong>the</strong> information of <strong>the</strong> seafarers <strong>and</strong> a copy sent to <strong>the</strong>Administration.MLC-001 11 of 21 01/14The Republic of Liberia
