45The sample frame of the real-time video was taken from 4.08:28pm to4.09:00pm on 18 May 2012. Based on the results from the captured image on Figure4.11(a), the application captured 6 frames from live video which consisted of carplate images. However, car plate image does not exist in 3 out of 6 pictures in Figure4.11(b) because there is no car appears in the live video while the Basler IP camera isstill capturing the frame. This kind of picture will cause a lot of data redundancysince it is pointless for car plate recognition system extract the car plate characterfrom the picture that is without car plate image inside.The length of the offline video recorded by using BIP viewer is 3 minutes and31 second. The sample frame capture from offline video is starting at 1 minute and20 second until 1 minute and 38 second. By referring to 2 sets of picture in Figure4.15(a) and Figure 4.15(b), 10 out of 12 images consisted of clear car plate image.The car plate image cannot be seeing clearly in the remaining 2 pictures. Thisphenomenon appears because of few reasons as stated below:-a.
