An act of conduct offensive to commonly recognized community standards of propriety includinguse of vulgar language and/or gesturesInsubordination:Any disregard for or disobedience in complying with school or classroom rules and/or policies,and/or disregard for the directives of staff, and/or disrespect directed toward school personnelGang Policy:No gang activity, signs, symbols, drawings, etc. is permitted. Staff will determine what is “gang”related. If a student has what could be considered a “gang” tattoo, the student is expected to notdraw attention to the tattoo or to have conversations about the tattoo.Bullying:No bullying is permitted at any time, this includes, but is not limited to degrading behavior andverbal bullyingGambling:Students are not to bet money or other personal objects on any school activity, during schoolhours or on school property.Exchanging/Selling of Personal Items:There will be no exchanges between program students' of jewelry, clothes and/or personalproperty while student is in the program. Unauthorized materials may be taken from student andgiven to the probation officer.Other Misconduct:Any other gross misdemeanor or persistent disobedience, whether in violation of establishedclassroom rules, regulation, standards, or guidelines, and/or a violation of basic concepts ofacceptable student conduct or behavior.Discipline ProcedureDiscipline will be determined on an individual basis. The nature of the event will be taken intoconsideration as will behavior history and severity of the event.In Class DisciplineClassroom discipline procedures are as follows (exceptions may be made based on severity of behavior):Step 1Warning – when choosing to not follow expectations the student will be made aware of their actions andreminded to follow the expectations.Step 2Loss of ability to earn points – when continuing to choose to not follow expectations the student will bemade aware of their actions again and be informed of inability to earn points and reminded to follow theexpectations.Step 3Behavior Report/Processing – If the student chooses to continue to not follow the expectations, they willbe directed to an appropriate area to complete an incident report. Student choices will be processed witha staff member and final outcome will be determined on an individual basis. Any assigned consequencestated in the Behavior Report that is not completed, may result in further court action. All behavior anddiscipline issues will be shared with appropriate court/agency personnel.17
