Failure Resubmit the Report. DTraining Log Book Overdue Submit the Log Book. DFailure Resubmit the Log Book. DOn the IC Web site at http://www.ic.polyu.edu.hk/student_net/makeupApp.htm, you can checkdetails of your incomplete training, if any, by clicking “Make-up Enquiry”. You can also submit yourmake-up application via the facility “Make-up Application”. You will be required to propose two timeperiods and a reply will be sent to you within 3 working days via e-mail. Make-up application isnormally accepted at most three weeks in advance and arrangement must be made at least THREEworking days before the scheduled training. Re-schedule/Cancellation of make-up session is normallynot allowed after confirmation has been issued.10. MARKED EXAMINATION SCRIPTSUpon marking the examination papers, IC General Office will inform the students concerned of theirindividual arrangements for viewing the examination scripts, if any.Students are NOT allowed to take the scripts away or make photocopies, and are required to returnthem to the IC immediately after viewing.11. APPEAL AGAINST ASSESSMENT RESULTSPlease note ………the appeal against assessment resultsis subject-based. NO appeal can beproceeded on a modular basis.A student should make the appeal in writing to the Head of theirhosting department no later than 7 working days upon the pubicannouncement of the overall examination results.The student should give a complete account of the grounds forthe appeal in the letter, and provide any supporting evidence toIC for consideration.12. MODULE EXEMPTIONIf, for example, you are a mature or transfer student and consider that you have previouslyundergone a formal course of practical training essentially equivalent or similar to that which you arepresently facing, or have already studied and passed the subjects to be taught in class by the IC staff,you may apply for exemption from each, or both. The authority to grant exemption rests with the IC.Applications must be made on the appropriate Form, IC-T15 (Practical Training Exemption), which isavailable from the Student Enquiry Counter or downloadable at Student Corner of IC Web pagehttp://www.ic.polyu.edu.hk/student_net/index.html. You should submit an application for moduleexemption on or before the end of add/drop period of your semester commencement. Late orretrospective applications will not normally be considered. You may approach the IC Student EnquiryCounter for more detailed information.13. RETAKING OF SUBJECTSYou can retake a failed IC subject during the add/drop period of each semester after theannouncement of overall examination results. In addition to retaking a subject due to failure, youmay retake any subject for the purpose of improving your grades. Students concerned are required to submit the request by email to their programme offeringdepartment for processing before the end of the add/drop period. The programme offeringdepartment will inform the students concerned whether they have successfully enrolled on a retakesubject after the add/drop period.You should refer to the definitive programme document of your academic programme to ascertainthe requirements, in particular for subjects offered in consecutive semesters, for retaking failedsubjects or seek advice from the Department concerned.14. COMPUTER TRAININGComputer applications are common and useful aide to professional engineers and technologistsnowadays. To stay abreast of the trends, you may be required to undertake all or part of thecomputer training during your IC training depending on your training programme. Students are requestedto study carefully their programme definitive documents on which modules they need to take.14.2 Who Should AttendThe Computer Training will be offered to all UGC-funded students who either have to fulfill trainingrequirements and/or wish to better equip themselves by acquiring proficiency knowledge in the area.14.3 Training PatternYou must complete the Computer Training during the first year of your study as stipulated in relevantDefinitive Course Document.
