203 I 1<strong>PFERD</strong> <strong>Tools</strong> – Catalogues 201-209Catalogue 203 – Mounted PointsMounted points are suitable <strong>for</strong> pre-grinding, deburring, chamfering, fettling andfine-grinding aluminium and associated alloys in the SOFT, TOUGH and harDmachinability groups. Since the spaces between grit particles (chip clearance) arevery small on these tools, they are particularly susceptible to loading. <strong>PFERD</strong> hasthere<strong>for</strong>e developed a special bond which ensures unsurpassed stock removal overthe entire tool life even on soft, sticky materials.Mounted points – hardness F-ALUThese tools are made with a vitrified bond and green silicon carbide. A specialtreatment prevents loading on sticky materials. Applicable RPM limits <strong>for</strong> various shank lengths and shankdiameters are defined in EN 12413.
