Two mechanisms are discussed in the literature: 1) caused by high pressure built inside inclusions (R. D. S.Yadava et al., J. Electron. Mater 21, p. 1001, 1992); 2) moving dislocations interact with inclusions or precipitates (P.B. Hirsh, J. Inst. Metals 86, p. 7, 1957). Not remnants of inclusions or precipitates are seen inside the “stars”.
