If the application is such that a problem due to bearing currentscould potentially occur then one of the following solutions should be implemented with themotor and control system;a) Use of a control output filter that reduces common mode voltage and the motor non-driveend bearing should be insulated.b) For 500 frame and larger motors in non-hazardous locations, insulate the drive end andnon-drive end bearing and add a shaft grounding brush. Unless the grounding brush isprovided on the motor drive end, an insulated coupling must be utilized to protect noninsulatedbearings in the load equipment.Motors constructed in accordance with (b) are available.
