However, he only mentionedthe <strong>type</strong> was CM 8287 (now FMNH 59149) <strong>and</strong> it is selected as the lectotpye herein. The two other specimenswere not registered in any institute <strong>and</strong> are probably lost.Mastacembelidae (302)160. Mastacembelus kobayashii Oshima, 1926:195= Sinobdella sinensis (Bleeker)Syn<strong>type</strong>: unknown (2, 142–195 TL), Shiao–li, Hsin–Chu in 7 Aug. 1922, coll. Kobayashi.Remark. Also described in Oshima (1929). Oshima (1926) mentioned that there were two specimens collectedtogether <strong>and</strong> the description was based on a 142 TL specimen. Both were not registered to any institute <strong>and</strong> areprobably lost. Based on our examination, this species is very likely a valid subspecies <strong>of</strong> Sinobdella sinensisendemic to Taiwan (also I.–S. Chen, pers. comm., May 2005). However, it is believed to be extinct fromTaiwan.Scorpaenidae (304)161.
