The California Department of Public Health licensesthese facilities and enforces regulations that are in addition toOSHPD’s. For example, cafeterias require the local healthdepartment’s approval; the use of a grease interceptor will require thereview of the local water pollution agency; a storm water preventionplan might need to be filed; and an emergency generator or boilermight trigger an air quality review. This list is not comprehensive. TheRegistered Design Professional ultimately takes full responsibility forworking with the appropriate agencies. To avoid delays, the RegisteredDesign Professional must ensure that all appropriate approvals areobtained prior to a final permit being issued by OSHPD.
