EDITORIALACVTIVITIES BY AND FOR MIGRANTS) An enumeration of the editions ofémigré journals in the possession of the IISH.Summing upAllthough we have tried to set out in general terms the relevant archival data oninternational migration held at the IISH, we must unfortunately admit that owing to thereasons set out in the text, it proved impossible to include every single individual ororganization which was relevant. It is also important to realize that the nature of theavailable material has occasionally led to the construction of a framework that does notalways reflect reality to its full extent. Nevertheless it may be expected that the outcomeof this pioneering effort can, and should, highlight and promote socio-historical researchand scholarship on this interesting demographic phenomenon. Last but not least: apartfrom its archival holdings, the IISH has much more to offer to the visitor interested inmigration and settlement: numerous and unique journals, periodicals, books andiconographic material. Owing to the various constraints applying, information on theseitems has not been included in the present guide.
