School Based Youth Services, cont.Drop Out Prevention & At Risk Youth Forums – will host a collaborative series of videoconference presentations with the Juvenile Justice Commission Speaker Bureau and SBYSP at MorganVillage and Veterans Memorial Middle <strong>Schools</strong>. Topics include: Anger Management, Bullying,Substance Abuse, Grief, etc. The first conference will be Thursday, October 7, <strong>2010</strong>, 10:00 am. Otherscheduled dates will be January 13, 2011, April 7, 2011 and June 2, 2011.There will be no cost to the Board.<strong>Camden</strong> High SchoolCollaboration– Sports Psychologist ProgramDr. Sonny Dillion, 3 rd year resident at Cooper Hospital – Sport Medicine Program, will provideservices to athletes on site. Students will be referred by the Athletic Director, Coaches andAdministration. Program monitor will be the Site Manager. The program will begin in October onWednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and will end in May 2011.Mentoring program – seniors will mentor underclassmen (9 th grade students). The seniors wereselected by an application process. The 9 th grade students will be referred by Guidance Counselors at<strong>Camden</strong> High School. Big Brother, Big Sister will train all mentors on the process of mentoring.Mentoring sessions will take place during student’s lunch periods. Recruitment will take place during<strong>September</strong> and the program will begin in October. The program will run for a total of sixteen (16) weeks.Teen Prevention Education Program, TEEN PEP – a comprehensive, school based program.Implementation of this program is funded by the Princeton Center for Leadership Training. Programbegins October <strong>2010</strong>.Woodrow Wilson High SchoolFamily Outreach Event, the Northgate I Apartment building (picnic area), 7 th & LindenStreets (North <strong>Camden</strong>), Saturday, October 9 th , <strong>2010</strong>, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pyne Poynt Middle School,Cooper’s Poynt Family School, Family School Coordinators, and school wellness council will participate.Families will receive information on tutorial services; individual and family counseling services;recreational opportunities; as well as, wellness and nutrition. Lunch will be provided, and there will be aschool-supply give-away, donated from local businesses. Donations will be solicited from localbusinesses for school supplies and uniforms.• Rent a Snow Cone Machine and generator-$200.00• Food (hotdogs, rolls and juice) @ $5.00 per person x 100 people = $500.00• DJ - $250.00• Decorations (balloons and plastic table clothes) - $75.00• Supplies (popcorn, butter, popcorn bag, and charcoal) -$74.00• Delivery charge of machine and generator $220.00• 6 hrs. compensation for the following SBYS Staff:<strong>Official</strong> Report 46<strong>September</strong> <strong>28</strong>, <strong>2010</strong>
