Quilting – Snowman / Spruce Tree PatternOctober 24 and 25, 2014 ( Friday: 6:30pm – 9pm ) ( Saturday: 9am – 4pm )This basic rag quilt class has a winter themed twist to it, with a snowman or a spruce tree pattern. One evening ofprep work and one day of sewing and you will have a cozy quilt to display for the holidays or give as a gift! Joinour local instructor in our beautiful natural light space in the college where even absolute beginners can createthis beautiful and useful piece. Bring your own sewing machine. Materials are at your own cost, depending onthe fabrics you choose. In this very easy hands-on class, you will learn thebasics of using a sewing panel to create a small quilt using the design of your choice. The instructor will teach youabout basic sewing tools, materials and in only 8 hours (one evening of prep, and one day of sewing) you willhave yourself a beautiful quilt to call your own. This is more of the traditional type of quilting, and is a perfectproject for someone wanting to learn how to sew. Bring your own sewing machine. If you can sewa straight line you can learn how to make this unique quilt. These quilts can be great for picnics, in the car, while snugglingup in front of TV, over the back of a chair or as a throw over the bottom of the bed. This quilting style combines thetraditional concepts of patchwork (with a twist) and unusual materials often looked over for normal quilting, such as denim,flannel or polar fleece.
