4.9.2. Lienbacher Quarry (L)<br />

Geological Setting:<br />

� The Lienbacher Quarry (ÖK50 / Blatt 94 Hallein, R 07 3542, H 52 8425) is located nor<strong>the</strong>ast <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Tropf Quarry (Adnet reef core) and represents an upper slope position at <strong>the</strong> former Triassic<br />

reef body. In <strong>the</strong> northwestern corner <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> quarry <strong>the</strong> transition between Triassic reef limestone<br />

and discordantly overlying Hettangian Schnöll Formation is just exposed (Fig. 16, Pl. 15),<br />

whereas <strong>the</strong> remaining part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> quarry is formed by several meters <strong>of</strong> Sinemurian red Adnet<br />

limestones.
