We lost ourbeloved son Marshall twoyears ago this month. We miss him every day ofour lives, but fail to seethat any good comes fromnot allowing our hearts toalso mend a little everyday.Memories can be such ablessing if we allowourselves to rememberonly the good ones. Thetimes we laughed, thebirthdays and vacations, school events, letters fromcamp, graduation pictures, phone calls…..all preciousmemories that help stitchup broken hearts. At this point in our lives,we’ve all lost someone weloved. The experience isdevastating. But does thatexperience make us abetter, stronger, andperhaps even wiserperson? We hope so. Wehope that we can allrealize the gift of each andevery day, and appreciatethe priceless friends andfamily that we have left.….I’m just sayin’.Wind and RainCouldn’t DampenHavdalah ServiceOur first winter storm thisseason brought wind and areal gully washer, but itcouldn’t damped the spiritand camaraderie of ourNovember 23 Havdalahservice and pot luckdinner. Many thanks to BarbaraHamm and Jane Myersonfor preparing the service, and to all who broughtdelicious dairy dishes forour pot luck dinner.Approximately 36 peopleattended. Our next service will be onMarch 14, and will be aShabbat Service.
