opportunity. This is my
first real office job and it
looks like it is going to be

to experience something I
never had the opportunity
to experience before
I came to college. I
just hope that my next
round of firsts will be
as great as my previous
experiences. I look
forward to my first day
as a full time employee.

first head over heels,
long term relationship
and the first time I get
to hand someone my
business card. But for
now, I am going to enjoy
the first moments I am
experiencing on a day

ride, and the angel of mercy with me, (she
can be nothing else, I mean the woman
found a vein in my arm on the first try,
going south on I-77 in a rocking and
rolling ambulance, that’s not skill, that’s
a miracle of God, especially, with my
easily collapsible wonders), treated me
like I was the most important thing in her
world. The ER staff was also a wonder
and tended to me with great care and
respect.

Susan has made it a
tradition to visit local schools
during the spring and offer
her prints to teachers and
staff as a fundraiser. “Ten
percent of the sales go
back to the schools,” she
said. “Growing up in the
educational world, I knew
that schools were always in
need of funds. I guess in a
way, it is a tribute to my dad
for all the years he spent in
the educational world.”
Each year, Susan also
goes to the State Fair and
displays her art. “I paint
making this commitment
to me and having no one
else to rely on may be
one of the most rewarding
experiences of my life.

observation, I was sent home, where I
recovered slowly over several days.
Now every time I pass the local
emergency station here I say a little
prayer for those in residence. For their
safety, their dedication, their willingness
to serve in a job that is often unsung, not
to mention underpaid.
I don’t remember the names of the
angels who paid me a visit that night, but
one doesn’t need specifics to appreciate
their dedication to task or compassion for
their fellow human beings.
So to those who give of their time and
talents here in Blythewood, I’d like to say
thanks guys and girls from the bottom of
normally beating heart.

still found time to work on
in her art shop. “You just
never know what all you
can do until you are faced
with it,” she said. “It’s been
tough, but we are getting
through it.”
