When you’re processing upwards of65,000 hours a year th<strong>is</strong> <strong>is</strong> a massive task.”IP FrameworkIDIS has unveiled its new DirectIP framework and IP protocols thatenable connectivity of each device and element within its highdefinition(HD) video products.The frameworktackles the <strong>is</strong>suesassociated withex<strong>is</strong>ting protocols,which often preventthe full working ofcameras, networkvideo recorders (NVRs) and other network equipment. Theframework builds an entire network system from a single sourcesupplier. The DirectIP suite compr<strong>is</strong>ing a range of IP cameras andNVRs, video management software plus DirectIP switching hubs andaccessories. Brian Song, European Director, IDIS says: “As theIP-based market has grown, many providers’ products have nocommon communication methodology. Today, IP-based devices haveindependent protocols proprietary to the manufacturer, often meaningevery individual product within a surveillance solution <strong>is</strong> different.IDIS has developed DirectIP to solve these problems andcomplexities.”Alarm DetectorsOprema security supplies now l<strong>is</strong>t the<strong>who</strong>le range of OPTEX Redwalldetectors as part of their offering ofsecurity products to the installer trade.The d<strong>is</strong>tribution agreement includesRedwall outdoor detectors, and thenew IP range featured last <strong>is</strong>sue,including the SIP PIR detectors, thelaser scanner REDSCAN and theactive beams REDBEAM. OPTEXmake infrared intrusion detectors. Byproviding outdoor detection and being designed to work with videosystems, its Redwall products enable CCTV operators to obtain thecrucial images of crime or other threats and to take actions. Theirdetectors are one of the first to offer IP connectivity which falls in linewith Oprema’s growing integrated solutions products. Oprema’sManaging Director Matthew Epps said: “Redwall by OPTEX <strong>is</strong> thename in PIR detection so we are delighted to be able to add theseproducts to our shelves. Having them integrated with the softwareplatforms we offer really gives our customers the edge in systemdesign. It’s nice to be able to offer both HD CCTV and detectiontogether as a true IP solution.”Alarm VerificationPIN CodesASSA ABLOY AccessControl has launched anAperio escutcheon rangefeaturing PIN codes, to offermulti-level door security. Theproduct <strong>is</strong> designed to upgrademechanically locked doors andwirelessly connect them onlineaccess control systems, with it<strong>is</strong> claimed minimala security upgrade, letting users enter a PIN of four to eightcharacters, or use a card reader, or a combination. The product <strong>is</strong>available for conventional RFID technologies: iCLASS, MIFAREclassic/plus and MIFARE DESFire as well as for 125 kHz accesssystems based on HID PROX or EM410x.Speed DomeRIVA´s Full HD Speed Dome IP camera<strong>is</strong> for indoor and outdoors, say themakers ViDiCore GmbH.The camera offers H.264 compressionand achieves a frame rate of upto 30 fps at 1080p resolution. The360 degree endless rotation domesRC4202 and 4602HD come withintelligent onboard video analytics,powered by VCA Technology, asstandard and can be upgraded withmore filters. The PTZ dome’s 20xoptical and 8x digital zoom controls pan/tilt speed while zooming.For silent working, the product has a Stealth Spin feature. The domeallows 255 pre-set positions, eight programmable patterns and eightprivacy zones. It offers two-way audio, wide dynamic range, fourdigital inputs and two digital outputs, and supports ONVIF.The Videofied alarm verificationproduct from RSI Video Technologiescan now be handled in any alarmreceiving centre using the BoldGemini software platform. BoldCommunications which provides ITto alarm receiving centres (ARCs)describes integration as not onlyabout joining different productstogether but providing the right operator tools for response. Th<strong>is</strong>means filtering and priorit<strong>is</strong>ing the alarm data and video, applyingintelligence to th<strong>is</strong> information and presenting it in a logical,managable format. Bold Gemini delivers live and programmed dataand takes the operator through the alarm handling process. TheGemini interface for RSI Videofied has been developed with alarmhandling and logging in a way which retains all of the product’sfunctionality, according to the firms. The video verification productcan now be handled at the same Gemini control room workstation asmany other CCTV systems as well as intruder, fire and lone workermonitoring.
