Chapter 1 – Installation and Getting Started1.1 System RequirementsThe following requirements must be met to install and run Alibre Design.Recommended operating systems• Windows® XP Professional or Home Edition• Windows 2000 Professional SP2 or later• Windows NT® 4.0 SP3 or later 1Other supported operating systems 2• Windows Me• Windows 98 SE or laterSoftware requirements• Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 + Active Desktop or later(5.01 SP1 or later recommended)• Microsoft Virtual MachineHardware requirements• Pentium® II processor• 256 MB RAM• 800 x 600 screen resolution (1024 x 768 recommended)• Video card with DirectX support (32 MB recommended)• 16-bit or high color• 150 MB available hard disk space• Virtual memory: 250 MB minimum, 400 MB recommended,800 MB recommended for large assemblies (500+ parts)• CD-ROM drive• Mouse or pointing deviceInternet connection• 56.6 kb (minimum); DSL, cable modem, T1 or faster (recommended)-1. Alibre Design Professional users note:Windows NT 4.0 SP6a is required for ALGOR DesignCheck.2.
