Mark your Bible with a bookmark so that you can easily findtoday’s story.Take out your Spark Story Bible and open to Hannah Prays for a Child on pages118–121. Read the story out loud and point to the corresponding pictures. Look forSquiggles, the caterpillar, in each picture. Ask kids what they think Squiggles isfeeling or doing. (happy) How about baby Samuel? (he’s happy, too) Baby Samuel is God’sanswer to Hannah’s prayer for a baby. God listened to Hannah’s prayers backthen, and we know that God listens to all of our prayers today. Sometimes Godanswers prayers in ways that we hope for. Sometimes God answers prayersin ways we do not expect. When God listens to your prayers, how do you feel?(happy, smiley, etc.) When God listens to my prayers, sometimes I just want todance. Pause. I have an idea. Let’s all dance a prayer happy dance. Get up andstart dancing. Dance for a few minutes, and then collapse on the floor. Hannah’sbaby made her happy. I wonder what makes you happy.
