Do not reread the story. What happened first in today’s story?Write down kids’ words as they say them. This method is called story dictation.Do not change the words kids give you. Write one or two sentences on a pagebefore flipping the chart to the next page. Write the sentences either on the topof the page or the bottom so there is plenty of room for illustrations. Then whathappened in our story today? Again, write down kids’ words and flip the chartover to the next page.
