Our ancestors realised intuitively that Swiss pine
had special qualities. They used the timber for
their parlours, bedrooms, cradles and cupboards – and
enjoyed its unmistakable fragrance and beneficial
effects on the body, mind and soul. A study by Joanneum
Research in Weiz has confirmed what our ancestors
believed: the wood of the Swiss pine is calming, but
also stimulates the mind. It reduces our heart rate by
around 3,500 beats a day, which has a positive effect
on the body's vegetative recovery process. It is, above
all, the aroma of the Swiss pine that affects us: uniquely
gentle, soft and warm, and amazingly long-lasting.
