ANKERSMID Fluid particle filterAFP seriesApplicationThe Ankersmid aerosol/coalescence filter is suitable forfiltration of fluid particles of all types and is recommendedfor sample gases with an acid dew point above 100°C.Application examples are measurements in flue gas of heavyoil and black coal combustions.The filter separates the aerosols (very fine fluid particles)which still pass the gas cooler. The most effective position ofthe filter is downstream the sample conditioning close to theflow meter of the analyser. For additional system protectionwe provide the version with integrated hydrophobicdiaphragm, working as a liquid stop.* Picture may varyDescriptionThe filter element of the Ankersmid aerosol/coalescence filteris constructed in two sections with a flow direction from theinside to the outside of the filter element. The inner, veryfine, glass-fiber layer binds the fluid particles suspended inthe gas and leads them together with the gas flow to theouter, larger layer. On their way through the filter element,the very fine fluid particles accumulate with others and formdroplets. The vertical flow direction and the force of gravitycause the droplets to drip into the filter pot.The filter element remains fully effective even whencompletely saturated with fluid. If it is not affected by solidparticles, the lifetime is nearly unlimited. The compressedMicro-Fibers are made with binding of PVDF in order toprevent influences on the sample gas.A version equipped with an integrated liquid stop for waterand water identical liquids is available. The modified filterelement clamp has a protective hydrophobic diaphragm. Incase the sample conditioning system does not work proper,the filter will stop the liquid in front of the filter outlet.The condition of the filter is visible through the glass bodywithout opening the filter. The separated acid mist cancontinuously be discharged with an external mountedperistaltic pump (option) connected by the GL25 adapter. Notools are required to change the filter element.
