An elasticdiaphragm is moved up and down by an eccentric (see illustration). On the down-stroke it draws the air or gas being handled throughthe inlet valve. On the up-stroke the diaphragm forces the mediumthrough the exhaust valve and out of the head. The compressionchamber is hermetically separated from the drive mechanism bythe diaphragm. The pumps transfer, evacuate and compresscompletely oil-free.• Uncontaminated flow of themedia (oil-free operation)• Low maintenance required• No condensation in the pumphead• Low heat loss to surroundings• Easy access to the pump head• Energy efficient heatingApplicationDiaphragm pumps have become the standard in many analyticalapplications. Based on their design, they work without anylubrication. When analyzing hot gases, care must be taken not to cool the gasen route from sampling point to the gas analyzer. Were the gas tocool down, it could condensate and gas constituent parts couldcondense out of the gas, leading to inaccurate measurementresults. To overcome condensation issues, hot gases are pumpedusing diaphragm pumps with heated heads. All Ankersmid AMP 5xx models are characterized by an even spreadof temperature throughout the pump head and highly efficientinsulation. All models are characterised by an even spread oftemperature throughout the pump head and highly efficientinsulation. Pumps for this new range are available in three differentversions:• A temperature resistant version (T) up to 240°C• A heated version (TC) up to 240°C with thermostatictemperature control• A heated version (EC) for temperatures up to 240°C withelectronic temperature control with PC software• Electronically controlledheating system• PC software for controlling thepump via a PC anddocumentation of alloperational data• Gas tight:Leakage < 6 x 10-3 mbar l/s© Ankersmid Products, http://www.ankersmidsampling.com, Ankersmid Sampling products manufacturingNeerlandweg 22, 2610 Wilrijk, Belgium Tel.: +32(0)3/820.80.00 Fax: +32(0)3/230.98.58
