Dr. Petress was a speechcommunication professor at UMPI formany years. The scholarship is awardedto a non-traditional age student (25 yearsor older). The intent of the scholarshipfund is to support those who are uncertainabout the college degree experience butwould like to take a college course in asupportive environment. The award willcover the tuition cost of one course andfees.The Presque Isle Garden ClubEnvironmental EducationScholarshipThis scholarship is awarded to eligiblestudents who have completed the equivalentof at least two semesters of full-timestudy. Students majoring in biology or environmentalstudies as well as studentswho are education majors whose emphasisis in these fields are eligible.
