The Matrix Plus 3production commconnect multipleprogram audio inof interfaces givecommunicationsparty-line or camdevices, and wirethe highest audioMatrix Plusdigital intercom systems that are expandable,MODULAR DESIGNThe system design is highly modular, allowing for long-termexpansion, plus the ability to customize to the exact needs ofthe user. The modular system consists of: a central card frameplus 8-port matrix cards where all audio switching and leveladjustments occur; a wide variety of dedicated and modularintercom stations; and a set of modular interfaces to othercommunications equipment. With these basic elements, virtuallyany type of intercommunications system can be created.BROADCAST-QUALITY AUDIODigital signal processing within the matrix frame, along withcarefully designed audio circuitry, yields pristine audio andextremely low noise. Even when combining multiple sources, voices and program sources are clear and distinct. High +18dB output levels drive camera intercoms, earpieces, headphones, and IFB receivers directly from the matrix I/O ports.DDSP INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONSPatented distributed digital signal processing (DDSP) is the keyto the incredibly fast and reliable communications of MatrixPlus 3, also yielding compact size and high system capacity. Each matrix card processes the audio signals from its eightsend and receive channels (ports), and communicates directlywith the other boards, digitally in real time. No central processoris present — a potential bottleneck in larger systems evenwith the most powerful processors.MULTIPLE ON-BOARD CONFIGURATIONSThe Matrix Plus 3 stores multiple configurations —full systemsetups— on-board for rapid recall and changeover of the systemat the push of a button. Build up to four different configurationsto cover your various operational scenarios and keepthem in the system’s memory, with the ability to edit them bothon-line or off-line. Maintain as many configurations as yourequire on the programming computer, and download them asneeded to the system.THE MATRIX CARDSAdvanced circuit design is the hallmark of Matrix Plus 3.Precision 8-layer surface-mount boards contain custom DSPchips and processors. Boards are “hot-patchable”, allowingsystem expansion and maintenance during ongoing operations.SYSTEM FRAMESThe matrix card frames hold a configuration card, where thesystem setup resides, and a quantity of eight-port matrix cards.Digital audio and digital communication busses are built intothe frame. Both main and redundant power supplies, withaudible alarm, are included. The Compact 72 offers up to 72full-duplex ports in 6 RU, and the System 200 offers up to 200ports in 9 RU. The 2-RU MicroMatrix frame holds up to threematrix cards for 24 ports, has six integral relay and GPI circuits, plus slots for two interface modules.2
