The Journal Grants Reprints and Provides SpeakersBy David A. FurlowPAT NESTER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of the Texas Supreme Court HistoricalSociety, along with the co-editors of the Journal, believe in sharing the records,research, and photos the Society has published in the Texas Supreme Court HistoricalSociety Journal.When Colbert Coldwell, one of this Journal’scontributing authors, and former El Paso Bar JournalEditor Clinton Cross requested that the Journal permitrepublication of a three-part article that discussedHispanic/Castilian, Virginian, and Scots-Irish influenceson the Republic’s jurisprudence, Pat and the Journal’s coeditorsgranted that permission. As a result, the El PasoBar Journal has republished our Journal’s three-partarticle, “The Lone Star Republic’s Supreme Court Wovethe Fabric of Texas Law from Three Competing LegalTraditions” in its February/March, April/May, and June/July 2015 issues.Pat Nester and this Journal’s co-editors will grantpermission to other bar journals, historical societies, andmuseums to reprint Journal articles if the reprint bearsthe imprint of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Societyand states that the articles have been published with thepermission of this Journal.
