We arejust south of Angus off Simcoe CountyRoad 10. Our property is a picturesqueand scenic collage of farmland andmature forests bordering the NottawasagaRiver. Camphill provides opportunitiesfor people of all abilities to achieve theirpotential through Living, Learning andWorking Together. Everyone contributesto and benefits from the life of thecommunity.With such a beautiful naturalresource, stewardship of the environmentis an important responsibility and we takegreat care to ensure that all developmentis in harmony with nature. Work on theland, farm and gardens is an importantpart of that stewardship.Our garden produces a wide varietyof organically grown vegetables whichare sold at the Barrie Farmers Market onSaturday mornings. We also have severalbee hives to help with fertility and plantvitality. A herd of 22 Highland cowsgraze the fields. Managed forests providewood for milling on the sawmill, woodworking shop, firewood and maple syrup.Several kilometers of hiking trails weavethroughout the woods and fields acrossthe nearly 300 acres interspersed withdeep ravines and streams.In addition to the work of keeping5 households and 5 apartments intip top shape, there are other workopportunities which build and cultivatenumerous integrated skills: Pottery/Ceramic production, Wood working,Weaving, Artistic activities, gardening,animal husbandry, forestry, upkeepof the landscaping, herb productionwhich grows and packages seasonings.Most of the products we make areavailable for sale at our regular CraftFairs held in the spring, fall and winter.Our cultural centre, Novalis Hallis a beautiful venue open to thewider community hosting musicalperformances, conferences, cultural andsocial events, and plays for the public.
