World-­‐class equipment suppliers bring latest and best technology
to Tyrexpo Africa 2012
6 – 8 March 2012, Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg
A world-­‐class line-­‐up of leading automotive equipment manufacturers and suppliers has been
confirmed for Tyrexpo Africa 2012 in Johannesburg next March.
Covering everything from retail fast-­‐fit through to specialist services for the mining industry,
visitors to the show can see the latest products and equipment from among others, Automotive
Equipment International (AEI), Haweka, Hofmann Megaplan, Launch Technologies, Leaderquip,
Leadertread, Robert Bosch, SDS Systemtechnik, Syco Machinery and Wheelquip.
“Providing excellent customer service is a vital part of the modern tyre industry so having the
most efficient equipment to support service levels is a must for any business,” says Rowena
Suthers from show organiser ECI International.
“Tyrexpo Africa is much more than a tyre show and we’re delighted that so many of the leading
domestic and international equipment suppliers will be there to display and demonstrate their
latest products and technologies,” she adds.
Among those prominent names will be Rema Tip Top, who will be showing its full range of
automotive and industrial equipment and services for the first time.
“Since extending our relationship with Dunlop Industrial Products we’ve been able to offer an
extensive range of specialist services for the mining sector, including areas like conveyor
maintenance and linings and repair systems for excavator buckets and OTR tyres, for example”,
explains Rema Tip Top’s general manager Gavin Coetzer. “Combining that with our fully
comprehensive automotive product range means we have a great story to tell our customers
and Tyrexpo Africa will be the ideal platform to bring all of our capabilities together in one place
for the first time.”
Garage equipment supplier Wheelquip is the exclusive distributor of the well-­‐known Corghi
brand of equipment in southern Africa and offers a one-­‐stop solution covering equipment and
consumables as well as layout, design, installation and training.
“We have 27 years of experience in this market and pride ourselves on being able to provide
customers with everything they need to run an efficient and profitable business,” explains
Wheelquip’s Nic Kruger. “And we back that up with a strong market presence with offices in
Johannesburg, Cape Town and Namibia, plus dedicated agents in Durban, Port Elizabeth and

Another garage equipment specialist is Leaderquip Auto Services, the exclusive supplier of
automotive equipment brands including Hunter wheel aligners, wheel balancers and SICE tyre
changers.

An expanded range of Hunter equipment will be on display at Tyrexpo Africa 2012, including the
latest, most advanced new HawkEye Elite Three Dimensional Wheel Aligner, incorporating
Hunter’s “WinAlign” operating programme. Hunter’s patented “SmartWeight” wheel balancers
and Road Force Measurement Systems provide a new concept in wheel balancing and wheel
force measuring technology, offering business owners improved profitability. Also on display will
be select examples of Leaderquip’s top quality entry level products.

Show visitors involved in the retread market can head for the Leader Tread stand, a company
which has almost 50 years of experience in the sector offering retreaders a wide range of
products and services.
Leader Tread also provide extensive dealer support that includes a broad product line,
marketing programs, field service and training. The company has also recently introduced the
Leader Accredited Dealer Programme to assist customers achieve consistent, high quality

Germany’s SDS Systemtechnik GmbH is an innovator in the field of non-­‐destructive tyre testing
applications based on Shearography and Laser Triangulation. To date, more than 400 of the
company’s tyre test systems have been installed worldwide.
The ITT-­‐series test all tyre types and sizes up to 63” OTR-­‐tyres for problems such as separation,
delamination, blistering and broken construction. The systems are used in applications across
the new tyre and retreading industry, test labs as well as in the tyre repair and retreading
workshops of mining operators. For OTR tyre inspection, SDS offer advanced solutions such as
customized test chambers with fully automatic shuttle systems for efficient and ergonomic tyre
testing and handling.
