Reginald Adrian McDonald, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, serves as Associate Director of <strong>B<strong>and</strong></strong>s <strong>and</strong> Assistant Professor of Music at <strong>Tennessee</strong> State University. Prior to his appointment at <strong>Tennessee</strong> State University, Dr.<br />

McDonald served as Director of <strong>B<strong>and</strong></strong>s at McNair Middle <strong>School</strong> in College Park, Georgia <strong>and</strong> Director of <strong>B<strong>and</strong></strong>s/Music Department Chairman at Southwest Dekalb High <strong>School</strong> in<br />

Decatur, Georgia.<br />

During his public school tenure, Dr. McDonald’s middle school <strong>and</strong> high school b<strong>and</strong> received ten years of consecutive superior ratings at concert, jazz, <strong>and</strong> marching b<strong>and</strong> competitions <strong>and</strong><br />

festivals. His b<strong>and</strong>s have performed for prestigious audiences such as the Atlanta Falcons’ nationally televised NFL-playoff game, the 100 Black Men of Atlanta Football Classic, the Inaugural<br />

Honda Collegiate Battle of the <strong>B<strong>and</strong></strong>s, the Music Educators National Conference Bi-Annual In-service, <strong>Tennessee</strong> Titans NFL games, the 2009 <strong>Tennessee</strong> Music Educators <strong>Association</strong> In-<br />

Service, <strong>and</strong> President Bush’s visit to the Atlanta Fernbank Museum. He has been cited as an expert teacher by the Fulton County Board of Education <strong>and</strong> has been honored as teacher of the<br />

year in 1996, 2006, 2008, <strong>and</strong> 2009.<br />

Dr. McDonald has appeared as a guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, <strong>and</strong> speaker in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, <strong>Tennessee</strong>, <strong>and</strong> Virginia. He is a member of<br />

Music Educators National Conference, College <strong>B<strong>and</strong></strong> Directors National <strong>Association</strong>, <strong>Tennessee</strong> Music Educators <strong>Association</strong>, Kappa Delta Epsilon Honorary Education Fraternity, Phi Mu<br />

Alpha Sinfonia, Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Phi Beta Mu International <strong>School</strong> <strong>B<strong>and</strong></strong> Masters Fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., <strong>and</strong> Who’s Who in America.<br />

A graduate of Alabama State University, Dr. McDonald also holds a Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of <strong>West</strong> Georgia, a Specialist Degree in Education Leadership<br />

from Clark Atlanta University, <strong>and</strong> a Doctorate Degree in Music Education from “The” University of Alabama.<br />
