Cynhadledd Wanwyn Plaid Cymru 2011 Plaid Cymru Spring Conference 2011
Gynrychiolwyr,
Ein Cynhadledd ni fel plaid fydd yr olaf cyn Etholiad Cymru ar Fai’r 5ed a pha ffordd
well i ddechrau’r ymgyrch nag yng nghwmni ymgeisyddion, aelodau a chefnogwyr y
Blaid o Gymru benbaladr?
Mae Cynadleddau diweddar wedi canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu a thrafod polisi. Yn wir,
rydym wedi buddsoddi’n drwm mewn arbrofi gyda rhaglen y Gynhadledd er mwyn
gwneud y broses datblygu polisi yn un mor gynhwysfawr â phosibl. Mae’r broses
honno hefyd wedi ei chyfoethogi gan gyfres o Gynadleddau undydd ar bynciau
polisi o ddiddordeb. Eleni, yn y Gynhadledd hon, mae newid mewn pwyslais. Mae’r
Gynhadledd yn benllanw pedair blynedd o ddatblygu polisi a phedair mlynedd
o wneud gwahaniaeth mewn llywodraeth. Ein pennaf nod yn y Gynhadledd fydd
siarad am y polisïau hynny sy’n poeni pobl Cymru wrth iddynt fwrw pleidlais ar
Fai’r 5ed. Byddwch yn barod felly i glywed mwy gennyf i a’m cydweithwyr am ein
polisïau cyffrous ynghyd â’r hyn y byddai llywodraeth Plaid Cymru yn ei flaenori dros
y bedair blynedd nesaf. Fel y mae pobl Cymru wedi pleidleisio Ie dros Gymru yn y
refferendwm ar Fawrth 3ydd felly y maent yn haeddu clywed beth fydd Plaid Cymru
yn ei wneud nawr fod gennym Gynulliad sydd â’r gallu i gyflawni’r gwaith. Wedi’r
cyfan, dyma etholiad Cymru ac yn naturiol, bydd pobl am ddewis pwy a ddylai arwain
llywodraeth Cymru yn etholiad Cymru.
Mae Plaid Cymru eisiau’r gorau i Gymru. Dyma sydd yn fy ysgogi i bob dydd yn fy
ngwaith fel Arweinydd ac fel Dirprwy Brif Weinidog. Yn y Gynhadledd hon, fe fyddwn
ni fel plaid felly yn amlinellu hefyd pam mai Plaid Cymru yw’r gorau i Gymru.
Delegates,
Ours will be the last of the Party Political Conferences before the Welsh Election
on May 5th and what better way to kickstart the campaign than in the company
of Plaid Cymru candidates, members and supporters from all over Wales? Recent
Conferences have focused on policy development and discussion. Indeed,
we’ve invested a lot in experimenting with the Conference programme in order to
make developing policy as discursive a process as possible. That has also been
compliemented by our series of one-day policy Conferences on various subjects of
interest.
Now, in this Conference, there is a change in focus. This Conference is the
culmination of four years of policy development informed by four years making a
difference in government. Our focus will therefore be on talking about those policies
that matter to the people of Wales as they go to the polls on May 5th. Expect
therefore to hear more about our exciting policies from me and my colleagues and
also about what a Plaid Cymru government would prioritise over the next four year
term. As the people of Wales have voted Yes for Wales in the referendum on March
3rd, so they deserve to hear what the party of Wales will do for them now that we
have an Assembly with the tools to do the job. After all, this is a Welsh election and
this election is about choosing who should lead our Welsh government.
Plaid Cymru wants the best for Wales – that is what motivates me every day in my
job as Leader and Deputy First Minister. In this Conference, we will outline why Plaid
Cymru is also the best for Wales.
